Scrappy Log Cabin QOV top

My QOV group has ben doing a little block drive with these scrappy 8 1/2 inch Log Cabin blocks. I figured it might be fun to put tops together before the drive was over.

Ta da!!! The First Top!!!! So far I think we have enough blocks for 2 tops. I sorta forgot that they take 80 blocks to make a 64 x 80 quilt top.... sometimes Math eludes me.

But I really like how this one turned out. I will get the backing ready and get it quilted soon.

In the meantime, Thursday I sprained my ankle. I did it good.. because - if you are going to sprain something you might as well get some sympathy out of it right? I am supposed to be in a boot - but man those things could kill you. and they make your hips hurt....

I made my husband Vet Wrap it instead. I am so NOT good at sitting still!

Also - I can now use my sewing machine with my left foot haha

My Baby has sympathy ... but she REALLY wants to play and run and jump and attack me haha!!

We are working really hard on all our behaviors and being good, so we thought it was time to start training on some fun tricks to intersperse with the behavior.... she is learning to sit pretty ;-)

Its so cute!!

I always love this version of a log cabin! It is beautiful. So sorry about you ankle...I broke mine 2 years ago so I know how hard it is to sit still. Glad you can sew with your left foot!

Bummer about the ankle sprain. And you're right about those boots - that jump started my hip problems a few years ago. I love that log cabin QOV! That block is a great idea for a future block drive for our group.

Sorry about the ankle sprain, that's no fun at all. The log cabin quilt turned out really nicely. It's a very cool setting.

What a pretty QOV! I'm sorry to hear about your ankle. My right foot bothers me often so I can sew effectively with either foot now.

Best wishes on a speedy recovery!! I had to wear a boot for months due to treatment and then after surgery. I never want to do that again!

That log cabin quilt is wonderful. I'm a fan of almost every log cabin quilt. This one really pops. Ugh to the sprain. I'm not surprised you stay active. You get so much done every week -- or so it seems to me. We've found out our Sunny is the stubbornest dog on the planet. She's doing really well on most things but if she doesn't want to continue her walk she'll put her brakes on. Not sure how we'll break that habit but it needs to stop. Otherwise she's a pretty good little girl.
