Diamondback .... and!! Finished ( or Not) Friday!!

My June One Monthly Goal was to finish my Diamondback Quilt ( Rectangle Wrangle from Quiltville pattern)

but... I did not make it in June.... so! it carried over!!

I now have it Quilted - and I love it!!

Isn't that kinda cool? I started this as the Monochromatic Challenge that Patchwork Times did in like 2011.... or at least that is all I will admit to.  I had 6 blocks done and then I just quit!!! So I pulled it back out - made more blocks - and ta da!!

I think it is 24 blocks total to make this and it is 40 x 50 ish in size

I am pretty sure I will bind it in black .

Just a little proof that I did work back in the day
We were looking for photos for a slide show and I found this one -
that is me with my oldest bambino on my back
My husband and dad building fences!!

Alright - Now it is your turn to link up your Friday Finishes.

Please do provide a direct link to the specific post - a few of you did not last week.

Let me tell you why it is important to me.... because I read every post - but I can't get to them on Friday - so I read throughout the week.. and if you don't provide a direct link it goes to your main blog and I read them all so three hours later I wonder where my day went and! I get in trouble for not finishing my chores!!!

Congrats on getting another UFO off the list! The black/dark brown (?) really makes the design.

Good for you for moving that oldie but goodie forward. I'm struggling to move some oldies but not so goodies of that same vintage forward!

And you need to prove you worked????? ;-)

Your quilt is gorgeous, Alycia! We were BOTH quilting chevrons last week! ;-). Is that Kristin's Chevrons? I almost picked that one for my client's baby quilt, but went with Jessica's Abacus Chevrons instead because I was worried about too much stitching going across that Steam A Seam 2 appliqué. Thanks for linking up with TGIFF!

Great quilt! Such a good feeling to finish a UFO. I carried my son in a backpack frame like the one in your picture until he was 4. Now you can't find a simple backpack frame like that - the new ones are big & bulky and have all kinds of pockets & stuff on them.

Gorgeous - that is my kind of color scheme. So soothing and very southwest.
Love the throw back pic of you and your family. I remember those frame backpacks and they were not that comfortable. IThe current toddler packs have much better support. Great post!

I love the colors in your Diamondback quilt! Was your inspiration the rattler or are you an AZ baseball team fan? “Wink” your vintage photo reminded me of pics I have of our granddaughter and her husband after they redid a house they moved into! Daddy packed J while he painted and while he cooked! Ranch mamas are tough!

What an outstanding quilt! I can see this on a magazine cover - seriously. Love the photo. I'm thinking back to the 1990s and can't believe it has been over 20 years ago. I need to start doing posts with Finished or Not Friday in mind!

Hi Alycia, that is a really lovely quilt. Do you know why you quit this one? Maybe something more interesting came along! Thanks for hosting. Take care.

A finish is a finish no matter when. It is a gorgeous quilt (also a comment is comment no matter how late!).

That is a wonderful quilt. I would say I'm hopping over to Bonnie's site to pick up the pattern but, honestly, I can not bring in one more idea. I've got so many quilts with fabric and patterns pulled and haven't had time to start any. (Of course, it doesn't help to jump into new projects that were unplanned!)
