Another Flags for Sue as a 4H project

So my youngest son just finished his Very last year as a 4H participant.

He participated in Quilting and in Shooting Sports - and he had fun. And it was weird to have this be the end of something....

after each of the other kids we knew is was over for them.... but we still had more kids..... so it wasn't over for us.  Now.... it sorta is!

This was his Quilt
And he had fun making it

And of course -
It is almost ready to be awarded
( I have to wash it... but we are doing the college prep thing and the machine has been taken over!)

Want to see something crazy?
This was his first 100% finished quilt

Wasn't he cute??

Oh wow, time does fly doesn't it. It does feel odd when you've finished with all the activity stuff. We only have one, but that first year of her off at college was really odd. No weekends running to swim meets, volleyball tournaments, no school meetings, etc. Good luck with all the college prep.

Holy cow! Yup, that’s how I remember him....I’ve been reading your blog for a long time now and just never thought those cute little boys were all grown up. Next thing you know, they will all get married and start giving you grandbabies! Just think, a while new generation you can teach to quilt!

Congrats to your boy on his beautiful quilt and sticking with 4-H through the years. I know how the end of something feels. Two grandkids have finished school and my oldest grandson didn't play baseball this summer. The two younger grandkids with just be in kindergarten this fall. It seemed so strange to have a summer without ball games to go to. There'll be football this fall, I guess so the sports aren't quite over yet.

My baby will be a father for the 2nd time any day now. They grow up so fast. Hubby is still involved in scouting, even after both our boys have been out of it for years. You can still help out with 4H. Your boy was a cutie when he was little, and has grown into a handsome young man.

What a milestone! He was a cutie, and he still is. What a great skill you've given him. My son was able to earn spending money in college by doing a little sewing here and there for others. =) I'm excited that FONF is transferring to YOU - you will be a wonderful hostess, and I imagine everyone will move right along with it. Busy Hands is certainly going to be busy with many things! I look forward to seeing all your finishes for the soldiers.

Wow great projects! I loved 4-H and I was a leader for 20 years and retired 4 years ago when I went to work full time. I led sewing, quilting, knitting, crochet, Forestry, gardening... anything but animals or cooking! Congrats to your son for the awesome projects. My oldest grandson had his first year of 4-H this year.

It's true what everyone has said. It seems odd to be so "unbusy" and then all of a sudden there are the next generation and of you are lucky even another. We are deep into great grandson's baseball, football and great granddaughter's dance stuff. So on it goes!

PS: I am looking forward to Finished Or Not Friday with you as hostess! I just noticed on another post, your address! Bit of trivia: we watch Channel 9 News from Denver and Kyle Clark does a show called Next. He has a segment called "What do you say?" where he talks about different places in CO and the different pronunciations. He featured Kersey just last week! Fun!!??

Hard to believe I have been following your blog that long. I remember the original post of your sons quilt.

Well, it is not that hard to believe. I love your blog :)

Awesome quilts by your son--both of them!!! It's bittersweet to have an end to something, but the next phase will be even better.

I see you'll be hosting FONF starting next week. How can I follow your blog by email? Thanks!
