Color Challenge's

Do you remember in 2012 when Vicky Welsh put together a color palette, and Judy at Patchworktimes encouraged us to make a quilt with them?

The March Color Palette was a challenging one - but I did finish the top.  And now...

I finally got to the quilting!

I am glad I got it done this summer. Wednesday the kids go back to school and I go back to work!! I am excited - I have a great Line up of Client Quilts ready to work on.  (PS I have appointments available! )

The original Color Palette can be found in this post:   http://alyciaquilts.blogspot.com/2012/03/march-color-challenge-quilt.html    It was a challenge for me - but all of the fabrics were from my stash ;-)

And of course  - the back. I noticed every single quilter at the quilt show asked the white glove folks to let them see the backs!

And of course it now needs to be bound - do you have an opinion on which fabric would look the best?

Mmm, I vote for a small orange border and then a larger (white or is it light blue?)border. It is a gorgeous quilt!

Definitely the brown. Great quilting design!

I'd choose the red.

Oh, I love this! I think I like the darker binding.

Orange is my choice.

WOW! This is awesome! I think the orange fabric for binding would really pull those inside orange squares. . . not that they are subtle or anything :) I'm a go bright girl though. . .

No question, the red.

another vote for the darker binding

if you want the quilt to stay bright, i'd use the orange. if you would rather subdue it some, use the red.

The red on the left. Or if you have any of the black left I think that might be nice.

I think it depends on what you want the emphasis of the quilt to be - the dark red "woven" shape or the orange centers. Whichever you want to see more, use that for the binding. I tend to bind with dark colors, but in this case I might go for for the orange as the dark red holds its own pretty well with what you already have in it.

Ummm - me being me - I'd probably go for the red - but just to show that I am so wishy washy - I also like the orange idea too! (No one ever said I HAD to make up my mind!)

Either way - it is one beautiful quilt!!! You did good, girl!

very nice.... I also vote for the darker binding. The orange might be "too much". I like the dark as it will tone everything down and leave the orange in the quilt to make a bold statement. lovely quilting on this.

It looks great and I'm undecided. I like both binding options.

Beautiful colors! I'd go with the darker binding.

I like the orange for the binding to - but it would make the quilt 'brighter'. If you are looking for a more wintery/darker feel, then the red, but orange was my first go-to color! ;-)
