A lot of you have been asking if you will get to see the quilts being delivered. Yes - we will defineatly take pictures and share with you. We try to be very respectful of all the soldiers. Just because they are recieving a quilt does not mean that they have to agree to let us use their pictures. So I promise we will do our best to share with you all that happens, just like we have every year we have been blessed to do this.

Friday Afternoon Post

Good Afternoon! I thought I would get in one more post before the Friday activities around here begin. I have kids going in all directions tonite - wish me luck.

The first quilt here is from Sue E in AZ - this is her 7th QOV for the year - thats impressive! Thanks Sue!!

The next two quilts on the right are from Beverly H in OH. She and her Friend Kathy got together and shared a box. I love it!

~These next two are the 2 from Kathy. I am impressed with all the pinwheels. Those take so long to make!

And the last quilt is made by Betty H and her Crew of quilters in Alamosa CO. We looked for a long time, and I don't think one of those 9 patches repeats itself!

Wow - is all I can say. The packages are just rolling in. A long time ago Catherine from QOV said to include a postcard in your boxes to the chaplains. I can see why - You don't want to keep anyone waiting that their quilts are here!!!~

The first three here on the right hand side are from the Quilting Broads in Washington. They KNOW what they are doing!! Liz, Sally, Janis and Nancy... THANK you so much!

The next three quilts on the left hand side come from Dianne K in Colorado. They were quilted by Kim and Pam in Colorado. Dianne coordinated the whole thing and I sure appreciate it. They are wonderful!!

We had another "Meeting". A Sweet Quilter from the Geneseo IL Quilt group headed to CO to see her daughter, and on the way home I met up with her. Not to bad!!!

Peg in Ohio

These Three came in from Peg B in Ohio. The first is a Carolina Crossroads - It is wonderful. Its cool to see the different quilting people have done, as you may know - mine still needs to be quilted!

The Cemetary Picture: I volunteered my oldest son to go see what it was while I guarded the cooler. He had to get directly in front of it - but it was a ceramic white dog, curled up in a ball, looking up at the headstone. The black was little spots. Can you believe it?

Heard about our project from her WonderCut list and wanted to join in! I am so glad she did - these are wonderful Quilts!!

The colors really go together well, and I like the effect of them. One of the hardest things for me in quilting is choosing the colors. I can see what works after the fact, but have a hard time before I start. So its pretty cool to be able to see the color combinations that others have chosen.

From Quilters in Colorado

This first quilt - the Rail Fence with the stars is from Judy W of Greeley. She is in my guild and made this quilt at our Quilt of Valor Sew days.

This Braid quilt is from Francie - another Guild member. She called one night and said I want to make a QOV - what do you think of Browns... and a few weeks later - she gave me this quilt! Impressive.

Next we have a quilt from Barb W - also of my guild. The colors are very feminine - I love the combination!

The Lattice looking quilt on the right comes from Janice W of Alamosa CO. It is absoultely stunning in person too!

The Stars quilt on the right comes from Janice too/ I love the spinning look to it. Thank Janice!!

This quilt top is made by the ladies at Miracles in Denver. It was quilted by Fraley in KS.

Fraley also quilted the next two. She was inspired by the National Day of Service during Martin Luther King day. Glad she used that inspiration to help us ;-)

This one was made by Amy in CO - but now I think she is back east. She and her hubby travel a lot. It is the Carolina Crossroads designed by Bonnie Hunter.

And Last - another quilt from my friend Denise in Denver. She has the most adorable daughters. As you all know - I have boys, and am perfectly happy with boys, until I get to see her oldest girl. I want her! But she won't come live with me. Thanks Denise!!

5th Grade Quilts

Five more Quilts Produced by the 5th Grade. They are bound and ready to go!!
~
"Stars and Stripes" is the first one. It is quilted with the Random Stars Panto. It was a great choice!





This one is "Healing the Heart" It was quilted with Deb's Swirls by Deb Geissler.







"Designs Hidden Inside"
It was quilted with "Catch Me if you Can" From Dave Hudson I believe.





This one is "American Hope" It was also quilted with Random Stars.






And this one is "Fighter Pilots Flag" and it is quilted with Spiral Path.

They all wrote their own labels and had to work as a group to compose them. The labels are wonderful. I think the quilting designs chosen were so appropriate for their quilts. I am quite proud of the thought that went into this.

In Kansas. These 4 beauties arrived on my doorstep! I love how they are the same pattern but have such different looks. And Rosie - I chose a favorite... I know I said I shouldn't do that - but the Red and White 9 patches really caught my eye. I just loved it.
