I was invited to be the Speaker for the League of Northern Colorado Quilt Guild in Loveland. Before the presentation they hosted a sew day and I brought a million block kits to make FIREWORKS!!! ( formerly known as JR18HHS3)
They stitched, I annoyed, and!!
It was fun to see the different layout ideas for these blocks. We also got a TON of blocks stitched - I came home with a stack - so even more quilts will be coming out of this sew day.
If you are in NoCo - they are a great guild. Such fun people, and so supportive of the community
This last week sort of got away from me - The weekend was all awesome - but!! it kept me away from the computer.
Saturday (I Know! LAST Saturday) I got to Award 10 Quilts of Valor to more amazing Veterans. I just love these folks - 178 Vets were there to witness the *wrapping*
Sunday found me cutting and re-writing my presentation, and choosing the quilts to show, and stressing that I would bore people - so I was afraid of my computer.
I had been cutting block kits for the Guild Sew day, but I started thinking - what happens if I run out???? so I cut more, and then I panicked and thought - I bet everyone of them sews faster that me... I should cut more... So I did....
And now - They stitched a ton, but I actually have a few kits left over. I am going to look at that as PRE PREP for my next QOV sew day... right???
Anyways - How was your week? What did you get Finished ( or not)?

Looks like a fun and very productive sew day! Congrats to you! And vets wrapped in quilts...the best kind of quilt show!
How I love those wrapped photos, makes me tear up every time. I can't imagine how you hold in your emotions, but I guess you are focused on making them happy.
Fireworks is the perfect name for that design! Looks like the quilters really enjoyed their sew day with you. Happy Friday, Alycia!
Wow! What an awesome wrapping of QOV! How fun to meet with that guild and with lots of block kits. My iPad is being uncooperative today so I can comment but can’t get my link added.
You had a busy and productive week! The QOV ceremony looks as special as ever and wow how fun to see blocks and quilts pieced from your travel to the Northern Colorado Quilt Guild. I agree - all the extra kits are prep for the next QOV sew day. Well done!
they look awesome especially in the fashion parade

Wow, what great layouts they all came up with for the Fireworks blocks. Over kitting is way better than under kitting 😉.
I love seeing what you do for the veterans! And your sew day looks like it was a blast. Great pattern, lovely quilters, wonderful cause.
Too funny! The quilt tops turned out great! You are amazing!!!
