Just in case you want to know.. there is snow... there is snow on top of snow. While it might not be the dire straights that other parts of the country are in.... I might be dreaming of oceans... and sun, and ....
Those dreams inspired me to finish:
The Dash To Hawaii... for while I am stitching it - I can dream of water, waves, and sun....
And then Back to reality - haha!!!
These Blue skies have not been seen regularly - we got about a 20 minute break then back to fog and drizzle. But don't the happy prints make you think sun....
Looks like I forgot an up close of the quilting - but I quilted Hibiscus Flowers all over it - and I even used a Hawaiian theme backing... its just florally all over!!
We had snow again yesterday - and I got lazy and didn't want to dig my 4 wheeler out to go feed, so I used the kids sled.... They are too small for my kids now - but it was perfect for my grain buckets. My calves were staring at that sled like it would come to life and attack them!!!
That is my finish this week, and now -I had better get working on something for next week!!!!
Its your turn!!!

Nothing like a pretty floral quilt to brighten our winter days!
Love those floral prints. A perfect finish to remind you of warmer weather.
Fabulous finish with your Dash to Hawaii. Glad you had a break between snows and could enjoy the blue sky.
Okay, I am loving the sunny feel of this one, especially this time of the year. Great backing fabric too! Another one for your Churn Dash portfolio!!
What a beauty! It does make me think of warm weather.
That is the perfect kind of quilt to work on and finish in the middle of winter. Something that lets us daydream of warmer days. It looks beautiful. Stay warm; we have another big storm headed our way apparently and I expect we'll see snow before it's over. Yuck! LOL
Oh, my gosh, this is beautiful! I like a churn dash, and you more than inspire with your choice of fabrics in each new creation. I really love the tropical theme of this one. I love winter and snow and white, but this quilt really makes me "feel" summer!
Love the quilt. Sorry about the snow... though we NEED it. Nothing in the southern part of the state though. :/ Blessings!
The sun has not shone here since Dec. 29th. It was a glorious morning. Your churn dash quilt is stunning.
I just love a pretty churn dash and that's a beauty!! I can't remember the last time I made a churn dash--guess it's time! We had Hawaii-like weather a few days ago, breaking highs two days in a row (83, 84?). I LOVE that kinda weather!
Congrats on the finish of The Dash to Hawaii and perfect shots of the quilt against the snow!
Stay warm! And keep dreaming of summer days :)
Your Dash to Hawaii is beautiful. I do adore Churn dash blocks . How fun to see this bright and cheerful quilt with the snow in the background. Stay warm and cozy and have a beautiful weekend.
I love your Hawaiian quilt. The backing is lovely and perfect. Isn’t it nice to get some sunshine in January?
I can only imagine and smile at the image of your calves staring at the UFO (sled). Haha!
That's pretty! I thought at first those were batiks, but I did a close up and they are glorious floral prints. Nice job!
oooh very pretty!
Oh, don't we wish we could dash off to Hawaii! The quilt is the next best thing. Congrats on another great finish!
Your Dash to Hawaii turned out lovely, Alycia!
Hi Alycia, I love the way that you made a positive and negative version of your churn dash quilt. Lovely! Enjoy the blue sky :-)
I like to watch beach movies in the winter and snow/Christmas movies in the summer (to cool off). Nice Hawaii quilt.
Aloha! Love a churn dash quilt and even better, a Hawaiian churn dash quilt. It looks fab and very fun.
I love Churn Dash quilts and I really live the Hawaiian prints in this one. Looks really cool with the snow as a background.
I love the churn dash block! It looks very good in Hawaiian prints! I only wished I brought home more Hawaiian fabric when we went to Hawaii! Maybe a good reason to go back!
