Fixing the Burbles

I met a new Quilt! This quilt had been pieced by a few different people. Blocks were made by a group, it was sashed by another, and then my dear Client finished it up. Needless to say there were a few measuring discrepancies in it.

Not a problem. I took a lot of measurements before I started, and in the end - we had a fairly Square quilt.

Can you see the way the fabric was eased?  It made a few burbles. So in each block I stitched in the ditch to give it a frame.... and then quilted in the fullness.

It was so nice to see the finished result. Each block came out so nice.

I was in such a hurry to get it back to her in time for Christmas that I forgot to take a full photo....

But just so you are not sad - here are my boys - in serious mode... can you guess what they are sitting on?

I thought a fence but then it could be a bus

A corral?! You were brave to take on a project like that! Having been in charge of a couple of raffle quilts, I know how hard they can be to get em where they look OK.

You did a lovely job on that quilt! Are the boys sitting on top of a bus?

Is that a school bus? Or just a bus?

How about a horse or cattle trailer?

My vote goes to the school bus. You did just great fixing the burble in the quilt! Love the sound of the word, burble, too.

You are magic! Or a miracle worker! Those were really big baubles... You cured a sick quilt.

WOW! You're good girl! That was a lot of fabric to ease in there!

I did a customer quilt that looked like this once. It was beautiful embroidery with fullness EVERYWHERE! I did basically the same thing, SID'ed each block and stippled the heck out of it. The quilt was later appraised at $1200.00, so I guess I nailed it as well as you did with this one.

Great quilting job! You'd never know it had "issues".
