My Favorite People and Quilts of Valor

I have been working ( although is it really working????) with this Veteran organization for 6 years so far - and last night!!!

We awarded 12 more Quilts of Valor to some of their Veterans.

This was such a fun group - we always have a great time. We do the Quilts, We eat a meal, I pick on them, they give me grief - and most times - there is a thunderstorm that pops up... and last night - was no Different!!!

I always love how the right Quilts go to the Right Veterans. The one with the Eagle - his shirt  was the same color as the fabric. But When I said I hope you love Eagles, his eye misted over.

Afterwards - he told me that he has a collection of Eagle photos, and couldn't believe we knew that he liked them.  (Go Connie -she made his quilt)

The Blue with Stars - turns out that's his most favorite color in the world, and he loves to star gaze....

I just love how that works out.

Oh  - and did you see my RSC Red from 2024 in there?   ( center) and the Churn Dash - That's the one my Laura and I did - Laura from Cali and me from Colorado - I just love that.... oh and the far right - I did that one with an army Jelly roll - and He LOVED it - I am so happy!!!

Far left is the Not so Top Secret Project quilt from the beginning of time - she made it bigger ( thankfully - he was tall) but heck fire did my heart get happy!

  5. Live in a military town with two more base less than 50 miles in either direction and love anything done to honor vets. I have cried with vets and realized some didn't come back the same. Some had things they cannot overcome and some that need to take a break away from expectations. All benefit from knowing someone still cares. Thanks for what you do.

  13. Oh, how beautiful - my heart is filled with joy :-))
The wonderful work you're doing... the wonderful joy you all bring.
I'd join in immediately! Since I retired, I've been into Quilt & Co. and sewing in general... luckily there's YouTube - that's how things are progressing... because quilting is still in its infancy here.
I'm currently binding my third quilt... it's so much fun, playing with the fabrics. Hugs to you. Great job!
    Super fotos :-)))

  14. Those quilts are fabulous! I'm a long time member of the Marine Corps League and even the Marines get misty eyed over their quilts. Thank you for the quilts and for thinking of our vets. It's not just a quilt, it's a reminder that you matter and that people do appreciate your service.
Just love everything about this. You're awesome!
