16 Patches Finish and Finished ( or not) Friday

This is the second to the LAST Finished ( or not) Friday for 2022!!!! Last week you all had a Ton of finishes.... shall we keep it going???

I started this 16 patch quilt back in August - it was inspired by an Antique photo.... and of course, I had to do it in Patriotics

but then...  I wondered how I should quilt it - and ... this is what I came up with!

I chose to load it longways, and quilt in long rows.
The Top and the bottom have patriotic scenes (I think they are Judy Lyon designs - she shared them on the QOV members page and I thought they were cool)

and in the Middle two white rows I quilted the words,

In the Colored rows I quilted Stars and flags...

And Ta-da!!! The finish!!!

One more week to finish on more item for the year.... go go go!!

Now it is your turn!!

Link up your finishes:

AND MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

  2. Love the whole quilt- fabric and quilting! The blizzard/storm just started here. I am in the cross hairs of Lake Effect and high winds (55-70) this time in Buffalo. Praying we do not lose power. All Christmas plans cancelled.

  3. That is a very special quilting design and you had the perfect space for it between the patriotic scrappiness. Great job! Happy Holidays.

  11. No more finishes for me this year. Well, unless I have a chance to work on more clothing for the girls' teddy bears. I am cutting pieces for my next quilt which needs to be done by mid-January. It is a simple pattern though so I should be ok.
Love this quilt Alycia. Fun way to use loads of small squares.
    Happy Christmas!!

What a great quilt! I was also inspired by the antique/vintage quilt you shared. Your quilting design and placement are terrific! It's such a great idea I sent a link to your blog to my quilting buddy who does long-arm quilting. Thank you, Alycia!

  14. My gosh! Not only a cool use of small blocks (which would look so cool in any scraps, but patriotic, oh my!), but possibly the coolest quilting I have ever seen! Thank you for inspiring me all year long, and thank you for giving us a venue to share our accomplishments and get to know others who share our passion. Merry Christmas!
