The Pringles are growing... cuz you know...

 You just can't stop !!

Oh - and!! My AC decided to not cool last week as well - and when you have techs in the house - you don't feel like you can leave - so!! I sat at the Machine and Stitched.

And listened to the techs tell me that my AC system is old. That made me so sad - I remember when we put those in as we were building the house - and it just doesn't seem THAT long ago (of course I only had 2 of the 3 kids at that time... ugh)

Another Shout out - Thank to Lemons Cooling and heating we were back to some AC!! And are making plans for replacements - who has done GeoThermal Heating and Cooling in their house?

BTW - I don't use the AC that much, but from about 3-6 pm - the house needs a little help....

I had two of the *Blocks* done ( each block I am referring too has 16 pringles in them) Is Started stitching  - and put a few up on the wall - and realized... they are directional - you have to pay attention.... Easy fix..

We were back in action!!

By the end of the repair time - this is where I was. not gonna say I am a fast stitcher ---- go the other way... as in the 1 hour fix took a lot longer than expected

I don't know if my purples are standing out the way I want them to - but I also know that the light in the house is weird at the end of the day - And maybe ---- I can make them pop more with what ever I chose to quilt??

Back to the Grind....

  1. You made some heavy progress on your Pringles! Sorry about the AC problems, never fun having to replace a big ticket item.

Our AC also went out on Saturday 😥. As usual I enjoy your blog. Hugs, Sharon

  3. Love the Pringles! We put a geo thermal system in our house when we built it 12 years ago. Extra expense at the time but I believe it's paid for itself by now. Love it!!

  4. I can see your purple 'line' running across the blocks! You sure did get a lot done in the repairing time!

  6. It is cool that the purples are so subtle! You sure made a bunch of awesome little chips. As for the AC story. . .how does. time fly like that? One minute we are bandaging boo boos and the next minute we are facing leftovers because they've grown up and moved out!

  7. Geothermal heating and cooling is not something we have experience with but we think it is really neat; keep us all updated on if you decide to go that way. I'm sorry the 1-hour repair turned out to take longer, but I'm glad you are back to some AC. Your pringles pieces have grown beautifully!

  8. Of course you could have kept the different directions and just declared it a design element! Great scrappiness all around.

  9. Love the Pringles blocks! They look like the perfect sewing for when there are workmen in the house. And, yes - 3 to 6 pm is the worst in terms of the heat. We're definitely going to be getting it this week! 🥵

  10. The Pringles are looking good. We had to replace our AC and our furnace about 10 years ago. Friends of ours did the geothermal about that same time. They love it.

  11. We have geothermal. We've put it in several of our houses. I really like it.

    1. Also--geothermal functions best if you set it and leave it. It is not efficient to do big temperature swings, like turning the heat way down for part of the day or only using the AC temporarily. The heat swing that triggers emergency backup heat is particularly not that efficient.

  12. We've had many discussions about how AC has become part of our lives. When we were kids in the 1950s, it was a luxury. My Daddy bought his first one in 1956. It was a HUGE window unit that hung way down near the ground and was supported by boards. We don't remember being hot when we were kids, but boy are we used to AC now. Good luck with your search for replacements.

  13. Great to see how so many fabrics can come together and have fun. Never had AC until a few years ago, but now I cannot stand to be hot and cranky.

  15. So sorry about your AC. Unfortunately they don't last. We had to replace ours a few years ago, but we did get 25 years out of it, which, from what I understand is uncommon. Love the Pringles blocks. I can see the purples in the smaller sections, but they do tend to get lost in the large one. Hmm, wonder if you could arrange the blocks so they could be doubled, like a dash, somehow??? Just a thought. Glad you got some cool. The Geothermal Heating and Cooling sounds interesting. Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings!

  16. Your pringles are such fun, lots of scrappy goodness. I can feel your pain about the AC units. We had ours serviced last month and was told they are beyond life expectancy, but it doesn't make sense to replace them just yet.
