This is a quilt I started back when the pandemic Started... Sort of...
I dug out a box of fun polka dot fabrics to make masks with, and then I decided... no - these should be a quilt. So I dug out the ugly fabric for masks - and continued making blocks with these fun little polka dot ones,
Oh! I had already cut the mask pieces - so I did get pretty far before I decided they needed to be a quilt....
and now!!!
It is now completely finished !!
Ta Da!!! A finish!!! and!!! its one of the items that was in my Pile Project start....

I love your quilt, so pretty and happy! I'm so glad we don't have to make masks anymore but I still keep one in the glove compartment of my car, just in case! Happy stitching!

ReplyDeletePolka dots rule! And you have so many pretty ones in your quilt! I never have enough dots in my stash, and I'm always sad when I use up the last bit of one. The gorgeous quilting puts it over the top. Sadly, I'm ripping up some quilting this weekend. When you mess up, you have to own it. Sigh.

ReplyDeleteThis is a fun quilt. It's a simple pattern but yet so striking. I'm starting to rethink future projects. Time to go back to basics...keep it simple.

ReplyDeleteSo glad you opted to use these fun fabrics for a quilt instead of for masks! I used a few of my favorite Kaffe Fassett prints for masks and I regret wasting them now that the fabric masks are no longer mandatory, and no longer even acceptable -- if I try wearing one to a doctor's office or hospital they make me exchange it for a paper one anyway. What weird times we've been living through, right? Just so we can tell crazy stories to our great-grandchildren someday about how hard we had it before they were born!
ReplyDeleteHi Alycia, what a wonderful, happy quilt. I think that the fabric makes a better quilt than masks (which although possibly pretty, are not a great reminder of that time!) Take care.
ReplyDeleteThis is such inspiration for the mask leftovers in my stash. I made about 100 masks altogether, but gave away cut and measured fabric and elastic for at least 500 more to friends and neighbors doing the 500 mask challenge. Mine won't be as coordinated as yours, though, if I ever get around to doing it. Mine don't have one theme!
