This week went by very fast for me!! each evening I said - oh I am going to get *this* done, and then it would be bedtime.... and whatever * this * was.... wasn't done.... Oh well! Tomorrow is another day right?
I am working on Memory Quilts! - The first one is pieced, and the backing chosen, and now this one is really pieced - I promise! but it started raining ( YAY - bring more!) when I wanted to take the photo of the top....
This one is all the light colored shirts - where the first one was the Darker Colored Quilts. I didn't choose a One Monthly Goal this month - but really these two quilts are my OMG - as in Quilt and BIND!!! Oh that binding - that's a big one! So!! I am declaring it now - THIS IS MY ONE MONTHLY GOAL... haha!! Think I can do it??
Alright - it is now your turn!!! Show me what's going on!!!

I really like this quilt. Simply design, but your layout kicks it up a notch! I didn't see a picture of your dark one. I have a bunch of clothes of my Dad's that I need to make into memory quilts for my family and I might have to borrow/steal this layout.
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the days getting by without me doing as much as I wanted to. (Now there is an example of a sentence with questionable grammar!) On the topic of binding -- are you still stitching binding by hand after you machine stitch it on? Have you considered doing it by machine? I've seen several quilts where the hand sewn binding just falls apart. I've started sewing almost all of my pieces with both sides of the binding done by machine. Small things I'll hand stitch. Since a lot of my quilts go to charities and I imagine they will get a ton of washing as a lot are for children, I figure the machine sewn bindings will last longer. Or that's my excuse!
ReplyDeleteThe weeks go by faster and faster! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on geting your goal reached.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good follow-up quilt; these memory quilts are a good job (almost) done!
ReplyDeleteMemory quilts are some of the best quilts to make. I have all of the confidence in the world that you will meet your goals, Alycia. Thank you so much for hosting the link party. Happy quilting
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of work, and you should be proud! Good luck with finishing; it's difficult for me to get anything done these days, so every tiny little thing is a mountain top!
ReplyDeleteThat's how my week went!! The hours just seem to disappear. But on the positive side, daylight is staying a little bit longer each day. ☺
