Bichon Log Cabin ... my February One Monthly Goal

Ohhh its that time of the month - where you pick your One Monthly Goal!!!

I got mine done last month... yay me - let's try for a streak!! Two months!!

So - this is actually one that I had really tucked away... I started in in 2005 - when my Grandma started getting really sick. She had a little dog - a Bichon Frise that she just adored. And so I went on line and searched for some dog fabrics  - and I found a place ( that I can NOT remember now) that custom printed this Dog Fabric.

*Update * the fabric came from Hot Diggity Dog!!

So I ordered it, and before it arrived my brother called and said - hey - we need to get moving - so we drove to Grandma and Grandpa's. We stayed with her a few days then had to get back to our kids - so I started Stitching ......

and before I could finish the Quilt we were summoned back... I ended up staying at Grandmas for about a month .... and just tucked this little quilt back into the corner... until!  I did a little searching for my projects for 2021.....

I apparently have quite a few blocks cut with 3 logs on them, and the logs are cut - and!! I have a paper that tells me ( sorta) what my plans were!  and Some extra fabrics.....  I think this now justifies any fabric purchase I make - if its more that what I think I need... its really for later when I pull it out again haha!!

Everytime I say I don't have any UFO's I find something... so I am kinda afraid to say this might be my oldest UFO - cuz I feel like something else will pop up... and I will be wrong... again.... of which I will NEVER admit to Bwahh ha ha!!

This is My February One Monthly Goal - and will be Linking up at Elm Street Quilts

my goal is to at least get this to a top stage, but my ultimate goal is to have it quilted as well by the end of the month... I won't hold my breath for bound.....

  3. It's funny how we tuck those projects away and then find them so much later. Good thing we don't do that with chocolate or money! (Those are never lost for long here!) Our first dog was a Bichon named Quincy. He was the best dog ever, so seeing your fabric brings back many loving memories. I just know you'll get this project done in February! Bichon power!

  5. I actually HAVE this fabric too... and didn't know what to do with it. I have had (currently have one) bichons for about 20 years. I can't wait to see your finished product.

  10. I have never met a Bichon but I was acquainted with a breeder when I lived in San Diego. She had pictures and pictures of them. Sweet little marshmallow puffs. And those button eyes and noses. Now, someone will say, "they are feisty little critters". I don't know.

Maybe you ordered the fabric from Spoonflower? It will be a sweet remembrance of your grandmother, so Valentine's day.

  14. Very sweet doggy fabric. My oldest UFO dates from 2005, so you aren't the only one with a UFO or two from the time period. What a fun project to work on as your OMG. Good luck.
