They come every year - but I don't always get to see them
and not everything is always so green!

We used to call our crop duster "Huff and Puff", as he made his way from field to field, near our home in Delta, Colorado.

ReplyDeleteWe have them in the South, too, for the cotton crops and more. I think they are cool! Some people here call them air tractors but they'll always be crop dusters to me.

ReplyDeleteYou had a perfect view of your very own air show! We see them often when we're in town as it sits in a valley and there is a lot of farming. I'm pretty sure we could touch the belly of their planes if we stood on the roof of the truck. Cool shots!
ReplyDeleteI too enjoy the crop duster when he/she does their thing. Often lines up to go down after trees and up before the trees which here in Northern Ohio there is tree lined fields. It is banana yellow and often sounds running kind of ruff. Imagine what it takes to keep it fueled and loaded and maintenenced. I often think they enjoy being appreciated for what they are doing. Thanks for sharing your crop duster.

ReplyDeleteMy dad flew crop dusters back when I was a kid. He did stunt shows, flew an air taxi service. Anything that paid. Good memories.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was growing up, a very long time ago, there was always a person with tall pole, teenagers mostly, standing at the end of the rows for the pilot to line up on. He or she was showered with the spray to some extent too. Hard to imagine that in this day and age.
