My One Monthly Goal  was to get my Sapphire Stars ( aka KTQ) Into a top!!! and if I was overly ambitious - quilted!!

I was not ambitious - as of today.... but!!

Here is my finished Top!!

and holee cow - Mine ended up almost 100 Inches long!
That I was not prepared for!! I  needed a bigger room!!

The backing is made,
the Quilt is Pinned and ready to go on the Longarm

The desire is there.....

  1. I finished my Sapphire Stars top and just ordered backing. I, too, was surprised at the size. I finished off the borders differently (see my blog). I have to figure out how to quilt it yet.

This is one unusual quilt, and the colors are combined so uniquely!

  6. Your Sapphire Stars quilt is really beautiful. Congratulations! I might have to investigate this One Monthly Goal thing you're doing. I've ignored it for awhile thinking "that's all I need -- to set goals I won't reach, so I can feel guilty about them!!"

  13. Way to go!!!! I just barely finished sewing on the label for my Sapphire Stars. It really is quite long, but it was so perfect for me to use for QOV for my father-in-law. I wasn't going to do any QALs last year, but when I saw Kevin announce his, I knew he'd do something I could use for that purpose. Love your fabrics in this.

  14. Hi Alycia,
What a beautiful job you did on this quilt! I am partial to stars but I love your fabrics and that piano key border just looks great. Congrats on your January OMG finish. ~smile~ Roseanne

  15. Love the Sapphire Stars. BUT, hold on a minute! January isn't over for another 5 days. Getter done, getter done. No cheating!

(If it makes you feel better, my sewing machine doesn't even know my name anymore.)

  20. I like the changes that you made to Kevin's design. I really need to get back to piecing my version!! It's all over my sewing table and I'm feeling a little cramped (and a little like I've let Kevin down by not finishing the Mystery.)

  21. Your Sapphire Stars is beautiful. I like that you changed some of the colors in the design. You will probably get yours finished before me and I had my top done since our reveal.
