Monday Monday - October Monday

Boy - did Monday sneak up on me!!!  We had the best weekend - Cross Country meet, Football game - the Border Wars!!  Which is a big deal in our house! We have one Graduate of University of Wyoming, one of Colorado State University, and one student at CSU..... so that's awesome!!!

We are a house divided - ha ha!

So here is my latest group of projects..... are you ready? My QDD has totally kicked in - but it's good - it's refreshing, and it's making me excited to get back to my Blue Crumb Blocks - that's a good sign!!

Project 1:
These are cut pieces and started Half Squares for our Log Cabin Block Drive Block ( block pattern courtesy of The Colorful Fabriholic    At our next sew day we are going to have some helpers that are new to stitching, so we thought that we would get prepared with the half squares and teach them the rest ;-)

Project 2:
These are going to be the Disappearing Star Block ( I don;t know the link-sorry) and I am making them for another QOV group - they are sort of addicting as a leader/ender!!

The cool thing is - I had a bucket of 5 inch squares and thought I could use those - and, um, well, when I opened it - it sort of exploded..... so now I have to make the blocks so that I can close the lid again!!

I have a lot of the parts made - hopefully some assemble starts this week so I can show you the blocks

I may end up with a whole quilt worth!!!

Project 3:

Oh!! and the first clue ( the Fabric Requirements) have been posted for our MysteryQuilts4Military Yahoo group - so go join in - its a fun, easy, scrap buster quilt - perfect for just before the holidays hit!!

And of course - even though I have made 3 of these so far - I will make another one, so that my 2 1/2 inch scrap bucket will close..... I sense a theme here.... you??

  7. Got to love leader/enders for QDD --- focus on one and in between seams, get another one (or two or more...) pieced too! Besides got to work down those scrap boxes before they multiply again! Have fun!!

  10. Exploding bins is as good as any reason to start a project.

  11. Exploding boxes... how funny but I know exactly what you are talking about! Glad to see some smaller scraps being repurposed into functional and pretty quilts.
