So! I decided to stitch them together and make hot pads- I even used Insul-brite!
And yes - the do not have the binding, hanger on them - give me a year...
I'll get to it ;-)
I also have decided that Sticks 2 is not finished.

Love the idea of using up scraps for hot pads. Those would make some nice gifts for the cooks in the family. You could add a fun cup and some cocoa for the non-cooks...they'd have a nice mug rug.

ReplyDeleteregarding the pot holders or hot pads .. I've used cup hooks (yes, I think they are old timey things) and sew them to back of the pot holders. they are round white -- they the hot pad is grungy and you want to throw it out, those little cup hooks are still nice and can be re-used! Yep, save a whole cent or two! 8-)))
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the binding process... I rather like making the binding itself. It's the tedious hand stitching. Mine never lays nicely. I've started to sew on the back first by machine, then turn it and sew the front by machine, too. It turns out quite nice - especially if I use my walking foot.
ReplyDeleteLove the sticks, but Little Bit is headless.... did you notice? We wouldn't mind seeing his handsomeness atop the quilt. I doubt any of the girls at his school read your blog, so he doesn't need to be embarrassed.
