Quilt of Valor Pattern

This last July - I was the guest artist at 3 Creative Studios and designed this quilt pattern.  I thought I would try to get it to you again - just in case you all were looking for another pattern....

I issued a challenge to Quilt of Valor quilters to make 12 Quilt tops in the upcoming year, or to volunteer to quilt 12 Quilts of Valor in  2012.... Anyone want to take on the challenge with me?

In Full Disclosure here!!  .... I started mine in 2011, and it is in my piles .... (oops)

BUT I have decided I am starting to finish it now!! So it will be considered my top for January.... right???

  1. I'm so glad you posted this. I finished mine yesterday and will post it to my blog later this week. Now I can point everyone to the pattern. I will have 2 quilts in the mail to you this week and this is one of them!

Count me in on your challenge to make/quilt 12 QOVs in 2012. I got 12 to you in 2011. Does that count?

    Happy New Year!

  4. I'll take you up on the challenge - I worked on a quilt this weekend and finished the top late last night, so #1 is finished.

  5. I may be committing past my ability since I'm a newbie longarmer starting this week as you know. But I hope to quilt those 12 tops in 2012.

  6. I was just sitting here contemplating challenging myself to that very thing....so yeah, I think I will do 12 Quilt tops this year. (If it were up to me to get them quilted I think I wouldn't make it.) k.

I hope to get 6 of each top & quilt this year, but I'm not getting a good start. I'll do my best not to disappoint the troops or you.

  9. I will commit to 6 quilts (top & quilting done by me) but will do more if I'm able. I might send them locally, though, unless the pantry is empty or low elsewhere.

    Love that top of yours.

  10. I can't commit to any quilts, but I would be able to contribute a few blocks, if you're interested.

  11. I'll make some quilts for you, but won't commit to any specific number. I'm debating on asking my quilt group members to each make one, or at least the top and supply the back & batting if I quilted & bound them.
    We'll see.

I have one QOV ready for piecing and will try to go for 12 QOVs this year. I did 6 QOVs last year,so wish me luck, smile. This is a fun challenge!

  13. I can commit to making my first QOV this year, does that count for something? I'm slow, slow, slow, so I know I couldn't do 12 in a year, but I'll try to do more than one!

Good luck to you! I'm sure you'll have 12 finished before you know it!

  14. I'm going to maybe commit. How's that for commitment. I really want to do it and I think I can do it but I hate to say YES, I'll definitely do it because . . well, what if we move or something like that during 2012? :)

So, I'm thinking I can do it and I'll give it my best shot.

  15. I'm up for your challenge. I'll post it on my blog and see if my readers are up for it too. I currently quilt at least 1 QOV a month but I'm going to up that to include piecing 1 QOV as well as quilting 1.
