Design Wall Labor day edition

This morning started out so very early - with a Legacy run for Kids for Kyla . This was a 5K and 10K run - we met up with Dr Alex, and had some fun!!!    It was a great, cool, morning.

But when we got back home - I got to work on my 36 patch blocks and now they are all sewn and laying on the floor and I am comptemplating  them....

Apparently I can not count - because I thought I would have 30 blocks when I was finished.... and i had 15. so one of the blocks is made from some of the leftovers.

And then I realized I had a lot of leftovers and made 4 more leftover blocks....

See them on the end of this optically challenging picture?

oh better. So my question to all my great quilty (and non quilty) people... Do I sew the 4 mish mashed blocks into the top?   Or put them in the backing?

Here we all are at the Kids for Kyla Run

Finished? or Famished?

Cool Banners!!!

And Since I had finished my Memory Quilt in time I took it to give to the Doc. Jenn took the picture and I was glad - because I hadn't thought of it. It made us happy ;-)   And was so good for me.... and you know it is *all about me*  right? (grin)

  1. Love your 36-patch blocks... you could put your four mix/match blocks in the four corners?

Thanks for sharing your photos of the run and the memory quilt... I'm glad there was some "happy" for you all!

Impera magna beat me to it. I thought immediately, it would give it balance if you put the mismash in the corners. Looks like a happy quilt! Same for the one you gave the doc!

I say mix them all in. I think they add interest to the quilt and four of them would make it look planned....

I am so happy that you were able to give Alex the quilt. Wonderful, and wonderful memories of cherished family!

  4. I like the idea of putting the blocks in the corner. A bright surprise in the corners. Your other quilt looks bright and happy too.

  5. Awwww, that pic of you with Dr. Alex & the quilt is making me cry. Especially since we are sitting here in our VW camper, along the Snake river, outside of Boise.....
