You see where I am going with this right? That maybe I should just stop thinking and quilt!
I pulled all my yellows, ( oh my - there were a LOT!!) made a plan in my EQ7, and went to town.
And then I had strips left...and so I decided that I really wanted to use them up, because ... if I didn't, then I would have to add them back into my stash - and I really really didn't want to do that!....
So here is the finished Top #1
I have to be honest - it is not my favorite top. The picture does kind of blur it up. But - Wrangler Man likes it..... so it must be okay.
And this next picture is Top Number 2
I like it a LOT better... I don't know really why, but I think it has to do with the contrast.
And now - I am ready to move on to another color!!
Oh, and quilt these!!
I like both of them but I really love the second one!
ReplyDeleteI like them. But, I had to admit, this would have been a very difficult challenge for me as I don't have much yellow at all in my stash.
ReplyDeleteYou did well! Yellow is not my favorite either, and I LOVE the second one. It is very striking.
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job on "yellow!"
ReplyDeleteFor someone who doesn't care for yellow, you did a very nice job on both quilt tops. I find the first one seems to draw me in for some reason. The second is indeed striking... good work!
ReplyDeleteboth look great but the second on is what I was originaly planning to do. of course I all got don on the yellow was the scraps you sent! what are we working on next? cw
ReplyDeleteTwo tops, wow! I like them both very much, especially with the black accents. You did great!
ReplyDeleteWow! I like them both, but #2 is my favorite....
ReplyDeleteI love the second one, I like that you use a dark color as extra color, makes the contrast stand out
ReplyDeleteI love both quilts. And you are right, the contrast on the second one really gives is pizzazz.
ReplyDeleteBoth tops look great. But I love the second one best!!
ReplyDeleteI like them both, but I do like the second one better. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteI like them both, but you are right. The second one is more visual than the other and that pleases me more.
ReplyDeleteglen: but, i do like BOTH of them.
Wow! You got two done! Good for you! I love them both! Great job. Very effective use of yellows and contrast. Toni
ReplyDeleteGreat Job! And Double the Fun! I wasn't much on yellow either, however I ended up enjoying the color play.
ReplyDeleteI like them both but I highly favor top #2. I think you did a great job using a color that challenged you (no pun intended).
ReplyDeleteIsn't it nice to have a pleasant surprise when you thought you would have a Zonk? Great couple of quilts!
ReplyDeleteHope you like violet!
I like yellow but agree that a lot of yellow can be overwhelming. Terrific job you did on both of these. My fave is the first one :)
ReplyDeleteI love the second one Can I use your idea for my next color? It isn't one I would ever choose so strings might make it possible
ReplyDeleteOooo LOve your #2!!
ReplyDeleteI appreciate them both.. lol ... The first is softer and has definite appeal because of that and the 2nd is bolder, need I say more?!? Great job!! I can't wait to see what you do with Violet!!
ReplyDeleteCOngrats on getting two quilts done - I managed to get only two placemats - but i had a small stash of yellows.
ReplyDeleteI do like #2 the best.
liz
Wow finishing two yellow quilts, they both look great but I do think the second one is my favourite. You must have had a lot of yellow in your stash, I didn't think I had much but surprised myself when I looked, I had a lot more than I thought.
ReplyDeleteBoth are really lovely, but the 2nd one is striking in the contrasts with the dark and light! Beautiful!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love this color combination
