The Rabbit Hole Quilt!! and! Finished ( or not) Friday

I get this question a lot when someone mentions that I quilt... How long does it take you to finish a quilt?

I am sure you get that too - and after I waver and explain QDD, and the multiple projects that need my attention - I still never come up with a good answer.

This quilt?  I made it in under a year... yep!! I did!!

I started it by going down a rabbit hole on LAPaylors blog in June 2025 - and look at that - it is bound and finished by April 2026!

it is a LARGE Quilt - like 72 x 100 ish. It took 2 people to hold it all pretty like, and one tall one to try the photos in the sun. Its a combination of the Jelly Roll 18 pattern and my Happy Half Square 3 block.

It was also the inspiration for our Fireworks QOV's!!

I really like it - and!! I think its long enough for all 3 dogs to cuddle with me, but they don't need to cuddle right now. Or maybe? I hear a storm is coming in - and we are all for it - lets get rain!!!

Did you all have a good week? Did you get to your sewing room? ( mine is in the front room, so its easy to get to.... until I start the piles... oops)

Link Up your Direct Post - Its so fun to go see what you all are doing. I still haven't quite figured out how to comment if I browse on my phone - but I'll get there!

  1. I love this quilt, and I just went down my own rabbit hole checking out your Happy Half Square project page as well as the Jelly Roll 18 pattern. It is a beautiful combo! It is amazing how many variations the half squares can make.

  3. A finished quilt in less than a year is pretty good for me. Especially when QDD is involved! But your finish is a beauty, and worth all the time it took!
