Lions and Tigers and Ranch Life... Oh my!!

We have the Wild Animal Sanctuary just south of us.. funny thing - as the crow flies I think it is directly south of us, but you have to go west to go south to go east to get there 😉

We went there - The kids were all here, the sun was shining, it seemed like the thing to do!

Plus I love it, and I am a supporter - so I had to go see my *friends*

The ones they won't let come home with me ;(

I think they just look so cuddly - and I am sure that they really really really (don't) want to snuggle on the couch with me. They are just so majestic, and I am so glad they have space to roam.

Most of the fam!! ( one is missing - he had to work.... dumb jobs ( just kidding))

And then back to the ranch... the sunrise - and my Daisy dog - saying - Momma - Lets get to it!!!

This is baby Rexie Roo!! Rex is getting old enough now to be weaned from Momma, and I have a feeling, he's not going to be a fan... but it happens tonite anyways . Think good thoughts for him

He won't be alone - My Gelding Rojo and his full brother Reno will be with him - so he will have company - just not Momma...

  1. Oh boy, sending loads of good thoughts to Rex……pretty sure your head butting youngster is going to express his displeasure with a big fuss!

  2. Those animals are majestic! Your sunrise so beautiful. Weaning time is hard, that is true!

  3. There was a cattle ranch near me in NY and I could always 'hear' when it was weaning time! lol Beautiful sanctuary photos!

  4. Poor baby - that weaning process will hopefully go smoothly. The sanctuary must be very interesting to visit and see such exotic critters in the middle of the prairie. We have friends who live right on the Missouri River west of Yankton. She texted me a photo on Monday of the mountain lion hanging out by their front door. Not quite as regal as that gorgeous lion in your photo.

  5. I feel exactly the same about those big cats, I love them but I bet they wouldn't love me back. ;) I love seeing your space, so inviting. Good luck with Rex!

  7. Those big cats are so majestic. Sounds like you had time to make a lot of memories when the kids were home. Hope Rexie doesn't throw too big a tantrum at having to leave mom.

  11. I agree--I'd just like to give that lion a big hug, with all that fur. I recently read a book that was inspired by that particular animal park. It's called "Sanctuary Series" by Colleen Coble--book 1-"Ambush", book 2-"Prowl", and book 3-"Conspiracy" is being released in July this year. You might find them interesting!
