August's RSC

I think it is aquamarine - but I am choosing Teal or maybe some is Aqua - anyway.. I am in the same color family.... its just what I have!

I pulled a Pile of 3 1/2 inch strip scraps. I am sure that I got carried away cutting on one of my projects, and then they just went in the bucket....

So I cut them all 6 1/2 inches long -and got started on:

This ☝- the pattern I saw was called a Family Sized Potato Chip Quilt - and I can not find the link I used - but it starts like a Potato Chip block but you just keep going.... This is as far as I got by Sunday night - when I had to go play with the puppies.

We have a visiting puppy again - my Youngest son is home and brought his Puppy....

Remember way back when Red was the RSC - but some of us ( ahem  me!) got confused and pulled Teal?  I pulled those Teal blocks back out and started making more of these:

I hope I have enough cut to make the Quilt I started during the RED month bigger... We shall see!!

  1. Love your potato chip block, the fabrics are great! I found a free pattern for the family sized quilt on SewYeahQuilting.com

  2. That visiting puppy looks more like one of the gang than a visitor! You got a head start on teal a few months ago. . .and now you can build even more beautiful blocks!

  4. The family size potato chip quilt is a great way to use up some larger scraps. I like the teal blocks, too. I think the puppies approve.

  5. I was one of those who started with teal that month. LOL I like this bigger variation of the potato chip block. Does the visiting dog get along well with your dogs? They all look like they are smiling and happy to be together.

  6. Part of the fun of the RSC is going with the color of the month or doing your own thing. See, now you are ahead of the curve. :) The family potato chip block is great. Bet you can't make just one.

  8. I thought I saw a potato chip block with your teal. How many rounds do you plan to go? Or is it until you run out of fabrics?
