A Color Palette Finish and!! Finished ( Or not!) Friday!!!

A little while back a few bloggers issued a Color Palette Challenge QAL and I joined in.  It was a lot of fun to create a quilt with a palette of colors - even if you weren't sure where you were going.

I had the inner part of this top done and I thought it lacked a little pizazz - so another blogger suggested an Orange border... and you know what? It worked!!

Fast forward to this week - I decided it had marinated long enough and it was time to get quilted!!

And here is the best part!!! I had enough of the orange to Bind it!! Sometimes when things marinate, pieces get used up and you forget what you had them for... which totally happened this time - but ! I was able to dig - and bam!!! It exists!!!!!

PS - my girls say it is pretty!!  it is the Turning Twenty again pattern from Friend Folks

I quilted Butterflies and flowers on it - and used this super cool swirly Blue Backing fabric...

it measured 62 x 71 - so not too bad!! I am listing it in my Etsy shop too ;-)

And Now!! Its that time in the show - for you to shine!!
Link up a DIRECT post ( a few forgot last week) that we can check out and see what you have been up to!!

Did you get something to Finish? Are you getting closer? Fill us in!!!

  2. That is a pretty finish - I like your chosen color palette! The orange is a great border and binding color for all those cool colors in the quilt itself. Happy Friday!

  4. That Turning Twenty pattern sure has been a popular one for many years. I wonder how many quilts were made using it! Yours sure turned out great. Love the add of the orange both as a border and binding!

  10. The colour palate challenge sounds interesting. I agree that the orange makes it pop! I love that the quilt "marinated!"

  11. I've been fascinated by color and value for years. Actually taught a class in it for a while. The reason the orange works is because your palette is a split complementary. Think of the orange as being opposite contingent colors on the color wheel. It does add that need spark. Congratulations on yet another finish.
