Because the Design wall is full!!!
But I wanted to lay out my Purple RSC blocks so I could make sure that the colors didn't touch...
so!
I improvised!
I laid out Three rows at a time, pinned two - moved three to the top and laid out two more... so when it is all stitched together - Fingers crossed I didn't turn anything!!!
I am growing to like the pale yellow with Purple . Sort of....

Purple with yellow is good - yes! I had to take some things off my wall yesterday so I could make room for my "layout". If I laid something on a table, the cats would rearrange it. ;)
ReplyDeleteLooks good! Those silly turns happen so insidiously....hope this worked out for you!
ReplyDeleteI think the pale yellow makes the purples look dark and rich. Way to improvise a solution and I hope you keep everything oriented the way you want without needing to use a seam ripper!
ReplyDeleteI have a friend who loves purple. She says "every color goes with purple!" You just can't go wrong. ;) It looks good. Thanks for joining Sew & Tell.
ReplyDeleteI like purple and pale yellow together! Might as well use up what you have, right? Looks like this quilt is coming right along!
ReplyDeleteLooking good. It's tough when your design wall fills up, hope you didn't have to pull out the seam ripper.
ReplyDeleteI’m an LSU alum. Purple and gold always look good together.
ReplyDeleteOur guild Calico Cutters from Exton, Pa. just had Cheryl See. She is an excellent presenter & a wonderful workshop teacher. Her quilt is on the cover of the AQS magazine. I highly recommend her.

Our kids graduated from a local high school whose colors are Purple and gold. Can’t go wrong. Just look at a Crown Royal bag! 😉💜💛
ReplyDeleteWarm colors, like yellow and orange are great companions for the cool purple shades. Good choice. The layout looked just fine to me.
ReplyDeletePurple and yellow - great combination!! Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings!
ReplyDeleteA sheet as a protective layer is my favourite design wall, I place it where space is available and it works every time. Your project is looking great.
ReplyDeleteYour layout looks good. I've never been a fan of purple, but I'm growing on it. Not sure I would wear purple clothes... maybe light lavender...
ReplyDeleteLovely! I know what you mean about trying not to turn any blocks while sewing them together. I sometimes even take a picture and still manage to screw up the sewing. Lol! Good luck!
