A Quilt of Valor Presentation and another Giveaway

Saturday morning found us in very negative Temps - when we were doing chores it was -29 and I was not a fan..

We had a Quilt of Valor presentation scheduled - and I wondered if we would get any cancellations - can you believe that we did not!! Over 100 Veterans showed up to Honor these Vets ( and of course, have a warm breakfast)

I was impressed - as it was -11 when the presentation started... WHO ORDERED THAT!!!

Look at all those Smiling faces!!It was so cool to have them all arrive and they all Ohhed and aahhed appropriately over their quilts!! but the Smiles - oh lawsy mercy - the smiles - they just melt my heart!!!

This is my last giveaway this week - but... rest assured there are more. I can't think of better people( Quilters) for my excess Stash to go to!!  I will ship in the Continental US - some of you no reply bloggers need to leave me a way to contact you....

This is a fun stack of Flannels!! and even a plaid or two... but they are super soft!! We are supposed to get out of these negatives this week - but my flannel quilts have been pulled out... I think I might be in a permanent state of chilled haha!

I will draw at the end of tomorrow!!!! ( the 17th) so comment today!! and tell me your favorite snack while stitching .. or maybe you don't snack?

PS - Tomorrow... the First clue of Stars Like Spaghetti comes out... you won't want to miss it!

  1. Those sweet faces just pull at my heartstrings. They are all so dear! Thank you for all you do for them.
I don't snack while I am in my sewing room. If I did I would have dry roasted peanuts or M&Ms. Or both!

  2. We are having frigid temperatures too. I am so surprised your QOV presentation wasn’t canceled but that goes to show you how much the veterans appreciate this!!! You are such an inspiration to me! I do QOV too but not on the scale that you do.

  3. Do I snack? Oh boy do I snack!! Peanut butter filled pretzels is my jam. And they don't leave my fingers greasy, so a win win.

My favorite snack when quilting would be Hershey Kisses. Easy to eat and not messy.
Although I do find I snack less when quilting.

  5. My Quilting Club I joined a year ago, made some Quilts of Valor quilts and at the Veterans Day dinner we helped serve food and presented the quilts, I was so moved. I will help with the club quilts this year and make one for my daughter-in-law’s father.

  7. Favorite snack? clementines or apples (because I cannot afford mass consumption of peanut M&Ms) :-)

  8. Our weather is mild.43 degrees. No snow. A big thank you to the man that have served and for the ones serving now. I try not to get in the habit of snacking while sewing. Because, I snack all of the time away from sewing. But, when I do, I eat pretzels.

  9. I don't snack when I quilt but that's about the only time. Chocolate and peanuts are favorite snack items. Thank you for the opportunity to enter the giveaway. Those fabrics look so cozy.

  10. The smiles say it all.
Don't envy you having to be out in the cold ... wasn't that cold here in North Idaho and I still didn't venture out in 4 days.
Favorite snack while quilting, if I have to pick only 1 thing it would be double stuff Oreos, but in reality it is whatever is available to snack on at the time. I'm definitely an equal opportunity snacker.

  11. That's a big group of veterans receiving quilts. They all look very proud.

I should give away the flannel I have in a drawer too, as I really dislike sewing on it. LOL

  12. Oh my lands, that is too cold! I am not going to complain about our 18F! That's probably shorts weather for you. Ha!
I bought a rechargeable motorcycle vest last year from a friend and it is awesome to wear while doing chores. Insulated bibs and mucks and I am ready for the world!
I do not snack while quilting as I have too many furry friends, but I do love a coffee or green tea. I used to snack on mixed nuts but my female Maine Coon loves them.

  13. My internet has been out all week so I am happy that I could see all those beautiful smiling faces today. It really warms my heart. Thank you for the chance at your giveaway. I don't snack in my sewing room. It is messy enough without crumbs being every where. LOL

God bless our Veterans, and troops! So glad they’ve been wrapped in appreciation and love.
LifeSavers Mints: clean, not too sweet, dissolve of crunch.
    Those flannels are gorgeous.

  15. Our Veterans are made of stronger stuff than the average person. They can deal with this brutal cold.

  16. Great send off to all of those quilts! Stay Warm! I do not normally snack while sewing. I'm a mess and get things all over my hands. Especially the machine if I am eating.

  17. I don't snack while I am quilting but I do drink a lot of water. A piece of candy can tide me away until a meal.
