Plaid Pile Project quilts and !!! Finished ( or not) Friday!!!

Yep. I am still working thru the piles.... this pile of plaids ( the PPP quilts) I found in October and ended up with two quilt tops.... and now!!

The Finishes!!

Number one!

Please note.. It is bound.... oh ya!!! and it is plaid ....

and Number two!!!

These were fun and fast - kind of Lasagna Quilt Style ( Atkinson designs) and kind of Jelly Roll Race...

They used the whole pile of fabrics I had out, and each quilt can out to be 50 x 54 inches - so not super big, lap sized? maybe.

Are you ready for the outtakes??

I had visions of the gorgeous mountains behind us, and the plaids just glowing in the sun...
and the wind....

Well - it had other ideas.... so

we had to find some sheltered places instead. Which was fine. By the way - we hiked here this day... and the temps said 35 - but the temps forgot to remind me of the wind chill... I am not sure it was above 7 deg with the wind!! But it was gorgeous!!

It is now your turn to brag!!!

  2. A great style quilt that could use up lots of fabric fast! At least you weren't wilting with it only being 35 with wind!!

OMG love me those plaids! Great idea to use them like this; plaids all seem to go together.

  10. Love the attempt to photograph the quilt! That's why I usually take mine inside or laying on the berm behind our house. LOL Love the color mix!!

  14. The quilting on both is so wonderful. I love the curves with the straight plaid lines, and the diagonal quilting also adds such a degree of depth. And of course, your plaids are wonderful. It's amazing how well they go together! The wind... well, yeah. We got it, too!

  17. Your plaid quilts are fabulous. I love the quilting on them too! What is the large squiggle one called, if it is a pantograph? Fun seeing the outtakes of the photos...it is often a challenge, isn't it!
