My Friends Mother passed away and she was an amazing quilter...but she had a few unfinished tops.
So they all chose the ones they wanted - and my friend asked me to help him finish it. Of course, I fell in love with the quilt... so now you have to see it!! its a controlled scrappy quilt - and the layout - amazing!!
Isn't that a cool layout? I really like it - and was so honored to help him finish it.
Then a memory quilt. I really like these - they just have so many memories for the person in it - and its cool to see how much these mean.
Food??? We are going to get food right?????
Happy Monday!
Lovely quilt show! I just love that string quilt. It's so unusual.
ReplyDeleteThat is a really cool layout for that string quilt. I'm currently making blocks very similar to that - I will have to see how they look with that layout, too!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Your friend’s mom was an amazing quilter. I don’t think I’ve seen a top quite like it.
ReplyDeleteOh that controlled scrappy layout … so good!
ReplyDeleteWonderful quilts. How nice that you could help finish these for a friend. A similar situation here when a friend passed away suddenly. Her extended family chose quilt tops they wanted, and another friend with a long arm is helping them get finished. Family treasures!
ReplyDeleteI love the scrappy quilt you helped finish. The block looks simple but I don't remember seeing that layout before. Fabulous! Thanks for sharing and inspiring.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilts with beautiful memories I am sure. OMG just look at those puppy eyes!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful collaboration to be a part of, I'm sure your friend is going to treasure the quilt his mom had started. And something tells me Puppy gets spoiled, because who could resist that face?
ReplyDeleteLovely quilts. I tried to make one once and failed! Cute onlooker too. :)
ReplyDeleteThe first quilt is beautiful! Nice job brining it to life!
