the * Quiltygirl ® * Trademark

I first started working for myself in 1995 when I started a Clothing Business - I  immediately Trademarked the name, and the two subsidiary's and off I went....

Until - I found Quilting - and then I sold off those businesses and kept Quiltygirl - the name I made up in 2003... and got the website and tried like heck to keep up with all other forms of Social Media... until I couldn't.

Here is my Business advice - trademark your name.

Need a good Trademark Attorney? Erik Pelton and Associates

It is a little frustrating when someone uses your name and says - well - its just a word

Well - not really - its just a word that I made up ( with my kids) and its just a word that is the name of my Business - it feels a little personal

And that is why I am glad that I have the Registered Trademark on the name.

And proof that I care about my Identity... now....

if I could just figure out how to keep up with all the social media outlets .....I truly love Blogging the best!

  1. There are online services that will post to all of the sites for you. Can't think of the name but when I do, I'll let you know. Seems like it started with a T

  3. You go "quiltygirl"!!!! I get ya, it is not just a name. As designers we work long and hard for those names to be unique!

  4. I truly love blogging the best, too. We own the content here. On social media, with all the algorithm craziness, who knows who gets to see the content and we don't have control of it. I'll use it, but blogging will always be "home".

  6. I love blogging, hate the other platforms, harder than ever to see anything! HOORAY for you and your trademark - it is yours - use it!!!! I took the copyright and trademark classes with Elizabeth Townsend Gard, very interesting. I learned alot, need to learn more; but it is mostly for my entertainment although I may eventually do something with it.
