off the beaten path

We were just driving around and came upon some fun shots for me to take !  and! These are with my cell phone ;-)

I realize its not a level photo - but I was learning out of the car window - I thought this looked so pretty , just sitting in the valley like that.

A close up of the barn to the left. LOVED the Flag!

I know some of these pastures are communal pastures, so in the fall you round up your cattle to the pens, and haul them back to your pastures. This loading dock caught my eye

And of course - you have to see it in Black and White!

Pretty enjoyable drive - and! I even got Ice Cream!

  1. So communal pastures are fenced and anyone can use them? I know there are areas where cattle free range (I think) and have often wondered how far and wide one might hafta look to find their cows. LOL Nice photos; old barns (especially falling down ones) make the best pix!!

  5. Beautiful views--so different with the rolling hills but so alike with the wooden pens like that--I live in cattle country, too!

  6. Oh, well ice cream! That would make the whole thing worth it IMO. I LOVE your scenery, I would never tire of it. That first shot is exactly the type of area I fantasize about, and a nice cumulus in the background. ;)
