Oh well!! at least I still like it right?
This is called Queen of Diamonds - and the pattern is by Atkinson designs. It is in her Dealers Choice Pattern book.... I add this because the few emails I get asking for measurements... the answer is... It is in her book ....- right?
We have to support our awesome designers... and make them keep designing!
I actually have two rows sewn together now, so..... you know... I am getting there!!
and just for fun - One of my sons had to stay in Denver for a week and he was on the 30th floor. I went to visit him and this pencil caught my eye.... of course the tingling in my feet and the weakness in my knees did not like that height!
The 30th floor people.... oh my!!!
Now it is your turn!!! Show us those great finishes you have been working on!!

I'm not a heights person either but the pencil is very unique! I agree, the measurements are in the book or in the pattern. People can buy their own patterns. Did you mean for the link up to start in 7 hours? Happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteI usually like my feet planted firmly on the ground (although I think sometimes my head is in the clouds) so heights make me queasy too.
ReplyDeleteI think the person who thought to add that pencil is my kind of person!
Funny! I though it was photoshopped in. BIG fan of Atkinson Designs! Your quilt is coming together nicely, Alycia.
ReplyDeleteI've seen that pencil somewhere on the web..there's a site (don't recall the name) of weird things/oddities that you 'should see' when traveling the highways and byways. The pencil was probably there LOL. Was there any rioting/demonstrating going on that you saw?
ReplyDeletelove the pencil - I'm ok with heights - its water that gets me
ReplyDeleteThat's going to be an awesome quilt! Love that pattern. And I'm with you - not a fan of heights. I used to help DH work on windmills and I would shake when I had to climb the tower. Glad you were able to spend some time with your boy - that was worth the ride to the top.
ReplyDeleteHi Alycia! Oh, the views from the 30th floor but I'm sorry that you felt uncomfortable being so high. That pencil is pretty darn cool! Yay you for making some progress on Queen of Diamonds. We absolutely do need to support designers. Thanks so much for the linky party - I am thrilled to have a small finish to share (finally). ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteYou are making progress on the 'diamonds'! Nice look.
ReplyDeleteThe 30th floor is a bit much for me, too! Yikes!
Progress is progress, even if it's really slow. I'm OK in tall buildings, but I don't do so hot on edges out in the open.
ReplyDeleteHi Alycia, your quilt is looking great. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThat's a great quilt. I haven't been making progress either. LOL
ReplyDeleteI like that pencil.
