This is my Original Fabrics pull
And here I am - All cut up
And TA -DA
It is a top -
A top that needs Borders
At this point I am thinking a Small grey border
with a larger teal border
Since that is the fabric I can find in my stash.....
But..
they have these things called * quilt shops*
and maybe....
just maybe....
they have something better??
Thoughts??

Cool quilt - love the colors. I think the small grey & larger teal borders would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteI like your idea. Teals are sometimes difficult. Some more blue, some more green. If you have something in your stash that works, use it! That's what I would tell myself!!
ReplyDeleteI had many of these fabrics and made a random drunkard's path quilt. For the border I used the zig zag fabric, the one in the lower left corner of the picture, and fussy cut it to match in the mitered corners. I didn't put a binding on, I turned in the 1/4" seam allowances on the back and front and edge stitched so as not to interfer with the zig zag running around the whole quilt.
ReplyDeleteThat used to be my Go To quilt pattern. LOVE!! Oh! How about Teal Terrace for the quilt's address? Er... name.
ReplyDeleteTrust, but verify. Trust that your stash colors will be perfect, but verify this decision by checking out the quilt shops! lol
ReplyDeleteAwesome quilt top! I like your border idea and what fun is it to shop your stash when there are those things called quilt shops. At the same time if you take the fabric from your stash then you can justify buying something else... at least that is my rationale!
ReplyDeleteHow about a narrow border of that hot pink/magenta with the teal? That will sizzle! But, if you don't want to sizzle, it is your quilt.
ReplyDeleteThis looks great, I love your colour combo!
ReplyDeleteThat pattern is so versatile - like the color combination!!
ReplyDeleteI am going with my stash this year, when at all possible, so that is my vote....if I can't shop, then I don't want anyone else to....lol I really like Teal, and it looks so nice with the grey and the pink. Very pretty. Thanks for linking with Design Wall Monday, I appreciate you. Judy
ReplyDeleteI love your choice of colors
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a very colorful flimsy. I'd try to work with stash, but that's me. I'm trying hard to use up some of it. I think gray and then a final teal border would work well. Even after caffeine, all that came to mind as for as a name was "Teal We Meet Again". Obviously, I need a second cup! Happy stitching this week.
ReplyDeleteIs that pink or fuchsia, or a shade of purple. Whatever you call it - it works beautifully with teal. Go for a brighter, deeper teal to brighten the quilt even more.
