Barriers

No Excuses right??? Except.... I am making one....
We got our Photo challenges for the week and the ONE day I had open to shoot them was Tuesday....

and when we woke up Tuesday - it was a blizzarding away.....  as in 14 inches of snow and 8 foot drifts....

and so .... I decided to trek through it anyways - I had an idea.... and that didn't pan out..... and then I got cold - did I tell you the wind was blowing ( of course, that is what made it a blizzard - duh)

First, Because it was cold, I thought I would just go to my deck.....

And then I didn't like it as much as I thought I would

So we bundled up and trekked out to the arena
I thought the alleyway fence would be cool
As it was - Ice cool..... And I liked it

But not that much

And then I was just about to give up and say - well - I'll figure something out when this mare came up to the fence and starting throwing her mane all Farrah Fawcet like, and snorting, and well telling me - really - if she could be tough - I should be tough.... or take her in the house with me !

And this was my image! Barrier of the gate - saving me from carrying me dear sweet gorgeous girl into the house!

  1. Yep, we had our share of that storm too and I was happy to not have to be out in it. Pretty much all of NE Nebr. was shut down. Even if we could have gotten out there was nowhere to go because pretty much everything was closed. Happily, it's been warm enough since to start melting it, though it's going to take awhile for those snow mountains to disappear.

  3. The photo if your horse is gorgeous! I can't tell if it's in color (and the horse is grey and so is nearly everything else) or if it's in black and white. Either way: great, great photo!

  8. Looking at the picture of your deck...it looks like the snow caught a line of cats sitting and watching through the slats - I can see their ears, can't you? Totally cool. But the horse...she MAKES the picture - what a beautiful girl!!!!

  9. If you look close at your deck picture, it looks like your kitty cats were sitting there all in a row covered with snow and all you see are the tips of their ears! And your horse is beautiful and why wouldn't you take her inside? She looks like she's posing for you!

  10. I do like the irregularity of the alleyway fence (or gate?), but your sweet girl. She's a scene stealer!

  11. Is this an online class you're taking? I am intrigued...and impressed with your final shot...again. :) Glad that blizzard didn't head south this time. We're weenies and one blizzard is about all we can handle.

  12. Oh that's a lot of snow! But you got a great shot in the end. I admire your stick-with-it-ness. I probably would not have been willing to do that much tromping around in the cold.
