Finished!!!
The borders on the original pattern had these really cool geese.... But
I knew that if I made those borders - this would go right back into the UFO pile....
So I changed up the borders - and Now I am done!
I got so inspired to really finish it - that now it is quilted:
And if you will notice -
It's even bound!
A total Finish - yay!!

Congrats on your beautiful finish! I love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful quilt, Alycia. THe different block designs are so interesting. Great finish. I have projects like that with a mindset, "don't make me stop, I gotta get this over with". lol
ReplyDeleteGlory be another finish! You go girl.
ReplyDeleteAlycia that quilt is wonderful and will make someone very happy! Love that swirly quilting you did!
ReplyDeleteIt turned out great! Congratulations on a wonderful finish.
ReplyDeleteAnother wonderful finish! I have this pattern and should get it out one of these days. I really like how yours turned out!
ReplyDeleteA woman on a mission! Well done! Sounds like you have conquered your binding phobia. :)
ReplyDeleteYAY!! This is a beauty, Alycia! I laughed out loud about the border geese - I think your border looks fabulous! Geese do look great. . . but such a pain! Beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt! Great job! I love red-white-blue and have several of those UFO's. You are inspiring me! Have a blessed day.
ReplyDeleteI love the "Lessons from Mama" book. The instructions are the best I've ever seen, and the sampler is great for teaching a block-of-the-month project for beginning and intermediate quilters. And the other projects in the book are wonderful, too.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the flying geese border, but I encourage everyone to
try it at least once. Alycia, your alternative border is great, too - I'll try something like that on the next "Lessons from Mama" sampler I do. They make great Quilts of Valor.
Congratulations on your great finish!
ReplyDeleteThat quilt is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI totally understand the need for simple borders. It keeps the focus on the main quilt and ensures a speedier finish. And it is in time for the 4th of July celebrations. Awesome indeed.
ReplyDeleteAlso thank you for your comment on my blog - Sew Preeti Quilts.
Wow, that was fast! Congrats on the finish. It's a fun little quilt.
