Little Bit, Tall bit ( he is taller than ALL of us!) and I got to meet his trailer... we felt famous!
The boys got to ride the bucking bulls!. It was hilarious. The booth was empty until we showed up. The kids got in line, and the next thing we know the line is 10 people long. Businesses' love us!
I don't know if they made it the full 8 seconds - but they had fun!
The morning of the 4th - there was a 5K run at way too early in the morning... but we went anyways! The boys all ran. Wrangler Man and I cheered from the side. It killed Wrangler Man - he is a Not Good Non Participant.... ( you all get that right?)
My oldest placed 7th overall, and 2nd in his age group - he was a happy camper - with his back to the camera!!
And then the parade started.... Flyovers from the EAA group - Loved their planes!
There were a lot of planes flying over - I admit - I liked it better than the F16's. They were closer to the crowd, and there were a lot more of them!
My favorite - the whole reason this recluse rolls out of bed on a vacation day.... they are just so.... cool!
The Korean Veterans - a standing Ovation was definitely called for as they walked by... ALL of my parade neighbors stood too !
The parade of flags - a definite crowd pleaser too!
Gotta love the big horses.
My friend Matt and his wife SuAn used to raise the black ones. We used to go to Denver to watch him perform with them - so awesome. ( Matt passed away a few years ago)
We tease that some of the things we do are really *redneck* - but you all - this takes the cake. These toilets - STILL. WORK! Can you imagine? They had a little race right there in the parade!
Check out this attitude.... the tongue... I swear he is sticking it out at the rude people who try to cross the street during a parade! I get him!
We had a whole 4 day weekend to stay crazy busy - I think I am just catching up!!!
That looks like a fun way to spend the day. Looks like they really know how to put on a parade! I'm a Josh Turner fan too. Hope you have plans to build on a room for all those awards the boys are winning! Well done!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to spend time with your family. Redneck or not, the toilet racers were a fun addition to this post.
ReplyDeleteWhatta fun day! I think I would be a little intimidated by those longhorns! What a great celebration you all had! P.S. I would be cheering from the sidelines too!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you all had a wonderful 4th!
