Last week I showed you this: and I said it would be done today... apparently ... I lied....
But I am close!! What it was (or is) is a blank sheet of fabric for kids to sign. And my son was to take it to high school and get it signed, and bring it back for me to quilt. But he locked his keys is his car the first day.... so that delayed us a day.... and then...
The backing I wanted to use ... I washed it and I didn't like it... so I needed to go to town to get better backing.
So here it is: All signed. With a picture of the new backing... its warm yummy fleece.
And it is all pinned, ready to go on the longarm as soon as I finish the border of the quilt that is one there......
One of the kiddos, who I now look up to, but went to school with my son since kindergarten, suffered a concussion in a football game, and has had a Recovery. He is still in the hospital and will be for a few more weeks, so we thought that maybe we could offer a little more encouragement, and something snuggly for his room.....
and too show you how crazy our week has been - I just accidentally deleted a bunch of comments from the blog... I was trying to delete the spam ones.... ah bummer.... I still love you all!!!
That is such a great idea. Yikes...to be in the hospital for weeks? That must have been some hit. Hope he gets better sooner than later.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your quilt will be much appreciated and allow the young man to feel greatly loved. What a thoughtful gesture.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea. Glad you found what you wanted for the backing. How hard was it to write on fleece?
ReplyDeleteIs this quilt for Trey? We saw his story on tv. Will keep him and his fam in our prayers. You're so sweet to make this quilt for him. I know it means a lot to him, and to his friends, too. This must be very hard for all of them.
