My oldest child also decided to have a birthday today - the nerve of him - growing older!!! We celebrated all weekend long, with a party on Saturday, and fishing on Sunday. So much for resting up before our big VBS week!!
This is what I have been working on - a Quilt of Valor made by Connie and Kathy in Colorado. I think I must have really not been thinking when I loaded it, as when I decided how I was going to quilt it - it probably would have been easier to have it going the other way...
Oh well
Lesson Learned
Here it is all finished.
The brown fabric is really swirly so in all the brown I did swirls.
And in each different blue I did something *different*
This one ( above) got a feather.
This one got bubbles.
All in all I think it turned out pretty good!!
And here is my baby - at my pretty Hot Pink Table - with his cake and ice cream and Dr Pepper. A kid after my own heart .
Ooooh, I love the shadows quilt. And isn't summer vacation nice? More time to quilt! I am looking forward to a few hours of "me time" when my girlie has VBS next week.
ReplyDeleteI hate to break it to you, but the BD guy, the one with the wide wingspan, will be flying the coop before you know it. Oh, and I'll be right over for cake!
ReplyDeleteThe shadows quilt is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty quilt! I'll be praying extra hard for you this week - Vacation Bible School was always such a blessing, but goodness! - It wore me OUT! Happy Birthday to your boy and have a piece of cake for me!
ReplyDeleteThat shadow quilt is great....and I love the way you quilted it. Tell Jake happy birthday, and, by the way, he is not allowed to have any more....he is frozen at that age for his mama!! You have a busy week...have fun, but don't wear yourself out!! Remember, that's what those boys are for...they have MUCH more energy!! lol
ReplyDeleteVery cool quilting on the Shadow quilt.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday to your oldest. Cake and Dr. Pepper is simply the best.
