Every Summer FirehouseQuilts.org has a quilt show and it is awesome!! It is one of their fundraisers that they do to keep making snuggle quilts for ambulances and fire trucks.
My dad is Fire Chief in the Livemore Fire District here in Northern Colorado. They have these little snuggle quilts stuffed in there ambulance, and they are so helpful. Many times there is an accident and there is not anything to keep a child warm during a snow storm, waiting for MediVac. And they are able to wrap a child in comfort. Not only does it keep them warm, it calms them down.
Back to the Quilt Show!! They are accepting entries for the show NOW!!! You can find out all about it Here
There are Great prizes, and lots of great vendors too!! So if you can, mark your calendars and go!! Here are some of the great quilts we saw last year......

This is a great quilt show, and this year it will be at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Castle Rock, CO. I was honored to be able to display my 'Firestorm 2000' quilts at this show a couple of years ago...these quilts honor fire fighters from all over. If you can attend, it is well worth going!!
ReplyDeleteHi Alycia, what a nice post string on your blog about our Firehouse Quilts Show. We're so excited about moving to our larger, brighter venue this year, it's twice the size of our old venue. Thank you so much for the nice compliments. :)
ReplyDeletePat R-nice to hear from you again; your Firestorm 2000 quilts were spectacular and we absolutely loved having them & you in our show.
Our theme this year is Colorado but we're accepting any other category and size too. Hope to see some of your quilts displayed at our show and also hope to see many of you at the show itself. Admission is $7 at the door; all proceeds (after expenses) are used for batting, fabric and continuing education for our active local volunteers.
