Januarys Color Palette Challenge
I did it!!! I actually made something for the Color Palette challenge.... and then.... I got stuck!! I am going to show you the pictures... maybe this quilt doesn't need a border... or maybe it does....
First heres a picture of the palette - of course the picture is probably not as good as the one over at Vicki's
And here is my quilt top...... it is 55 x 66(ish) ( I can't remember where I wrote it down!!) It is from the pattern Turning Twenty again by Tricia Cribbs.
Now... opinions please? does this border fabric work with it?
or should I just call it good? I am really leaning towards the good, because January is over, and I would love to just start February... and it is a good size, it would fit me ( I am 5'10")
I think it is fine without a border...but if I was going to border it, I would try the bright blue, or the pink or purple...something with a bit more of a bright pop!
I would suggest a darker border. Possible a thin strip of light, then a wide strip of dark to frame it in. Do stop by. I'm sure there's something in my stash that would work.
Great as it is! Turning Twenty is a nice pattern. But if you decide on adding a border, I'd suggest a darker fabric. That 'done' feeling is so satisfying, isn't it!?
I think your color challenge quilt came out great! If you want to skip the border (and I think it looks really good all on its own) then pick a darker color for the binding so you get that hard edge look. It will do the same thing visually as a border without the added size.
Personally I'd put a border on it....sorry, know that's not what you wanted to hear.

ReplyDeleteI would add a darker border. I think a border frames the quilt. How about that darker purple (is that purple ??) in the center of the picture.
