So this is what I have finished on my Orange CreamSicle quilt - I have renamed it that cuz a lot of you said it reminded you of the creamsicles, and then I got hungry, and I had to eat all the ice cream in the house - but it was all your fault - so the calories didn't count.... oh wait - the quilt.
So this is what I have finished..... so far.....
But then I went in the office and showed it to Wrangler Man. He said he thought it needed another white border.... and then he said and I quote: " But will you have enough Orange to bind it? If not we had better BUY some when we are in town." And then I wished I had recorded that, cuz I am totally holding him to it, even if I might possible have enough orange....
So what do you think of it with more white?
It's sort of growing on me..... I could quilt some crazy feathers, or send it to Pat and ask her to quilt me a butterfly, cuz hers are so awesome.
I forgot to take pictures of the other quilt - but I have started my RED monochromatic challenge quilt. I have a lot of it cut, and have started a few blocks, and its a good thing I can tell the difference between orange and red or I might mix a few things into each other - Yikes!
And on the sports scene:
We have a photo finish!!!
That swimmer out in front - He Is MINE!!! He was totally awesome at his meet, and I was so excited that I took 14 million batrillion pictures - and three turned out great. This was one ( grin)
Look at that! He hit the wall a full bodylength away! This was his 50 free...
and now I need to go and nurse my throat becuase I yelled like a crazy mom ( oh ya - I kind of might be) and was so tickled for him. I just love it when practice pays off and they get what they want!
Congrats to your son... he must have been so excited!
ReplyDeleteI like the cream-sicle quilt with and without the white border... but you'll DEFINITELY need orange binding with the white border!
And you're right... that white border will provide lots and lots of play room for quilting!
Just wait, by next week he'll grow another inch and be that much faster - LOL. Congrats to the big winner.
ReplyDeleteBravo to aquaman.
ReplyDeleteAnd I really like the white border. It's very clean and neat.
Lovin' the Creamsicle quilt. Ya gotta love a guy who even knows what a binding is, let alone suggests buying fabric for it. Congrats to your son. What a great feeling that must have been for him.
ReplyDeleteif you are up to applique, let me cut out some orange butterfiles from the scraps I worked with, i would be honored to have some fabric in your quilt. cw
ReplyDeleteI think Wrangler Man is pretty darn smart. You've trained him well. I agree with him, I think it needs that white border.
ReplyDeleteLove the creamsicle quilt and think the white border is perfect. I am so impressed that Wrangler Man even knows what a binding is, let alone that he's actually listening to your quilt talk and contributing to the conversation...wow!
