Design Wall - Red Monochromatic Challenge start

Finally!!! I started chopping up some red fabrics for May's Red Monochromatic Color challenge from Judy! It made me happy to cut fabric!!!

This is all Ihave so far - but I will keep working on it, I want it to be at least Quilt of Valor sized, since it is kind of Patriotic looking.

Is anyone else working on the Red Challenge?

  2. That is very pretty and will be a great QOV. I am not trying the monochromatic challenge because, I have nearly used up all my fabrics, making practice quilts for the long arm. :). Nice job on the red challenge because I find reds very hard to work with. Nice balance.

That looks great! You always do such lovely work, and those reds sure are cheerful. I didn't do the challenge this month because....ummm...I'm still working on the brown one...and the yellow one! But having lots of fun, and I guess that's really the point. :) Take care, Dianne B. in England x

  4. Great start on your red quilt! It makes me happy to cut fabric, too. Unfortunately, it's frequently down hill after that!

  5. Well, I'm kinda working on a red quilt, but it's combined with the yellows and oranges. At least I am out of my "normal" color range.

  10. No I'm not doing the monochromatic challenge but have another scrappy quilt on my list to make this year - once I decide on the block/design.

I'm impressed that you're keeping up with the challenge with everything else you do -- I need to get my May UFO quilted when I get home next week from Boston!
