I think this might be close to half - but it is getting there. I hope to get some time today to sew on it. I have a customer quilt to finish up first .. so wish me luck.
Oh and remember some of those lists that I made - I delegated a few tasks.
I bribed my oldest child to get the small garden plot ready. He did a pretty good job, except he didn't like the fertilizer part. Which is all organic and produced right here, on the place ( bwahh haa haa) I crack myself up.
He got it all turned and smoothed out, and we bought our seeds and will be starting those inside next week. We are still hoping for a huge wet snowstorm, or a nice soft steady 24 hour rain.

Life does have a way of slowing us down on our projects. Good job of delegating the garden work.
ReplyDeleteIt seems that projects are rarely completely as quickly as we imagine they will be ... making a list is a great way to see how thin we spread ourselves. Your quilt-in-progress is lovely ... I can't wait to see it finished (and I know you feel the same ;-)
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt, it has a beautiful look to it. I wish we could be outside and prep the garden. We are supposed to get another foot of snow tomorrow and I was just getting used to the ground being visible!! Sigh, where are those seed catalogs!
ReplyDeletetee-hee! LOVE the title! ;0)
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah...Vicki and I must be around the same part of the US---we're under winter-weather-advisory through Wednesday. Ugh! Can't WAIT for May!
Your delegated task was an excellent choice. And your quilt (despite the slowness) is coming along nicely!
Progress always seems to go slower than we want. Looks good so far. Great job in getting something delegated!
ReplyDeleteIt's so pretty - and its time to be finished will come! BTW: Great bribing...
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky to be in the garden already...still getting snow here!
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is looking great!
Your quilt is looking great, Alycia. Those on-point quilts always seem to take twice as long to me as the straight set ones, but it adds so much interest to the quilt!
ReplyDeleteYour garden is looking good also. What all do you like to plant? We are lucky and already have peas, beets, spinach, and potatoes in the ground - but we are supposed to get winter weather again for another week.....
I just have one question....how is it that a ranch raised kid can not like the fertilizer part? We used to have fights with the apples - the dry ones worked great but the wet ones caused more havoc on the target! Mu suggestion is NOT to try that with cow patties though...especially the wet ones.

too early here to prepare the garden for the "homemade compost" here. snicker Mine is organic. Even aged.
