This was my view of the world today! I know I should post about Easter because - well - Logically it was just yesterday. But today we had no school - so the kids and I headed out to the Grasslands to see what we could see.
~
There are two huge Buttes out there and we figured if we hiked long enough we could get to one. And we did, and there was no crane to take me back home...
~
But the boys had a blast. One boy is in a birdwatching project and so we looked for birds. This is there hatching time out in the grasslands. So we saw quite a few, and even a rooster Pheasant. Boy those birds are pretty.
~
The other boy is doing photography - so he took his own camera and took 14 batrillon million kajillion pictures. He had a great time. We will be downloading his pics next to see how they turned out.
~
The old battered truck and old windmill - right in front of all the new fandagled windmills struck us as odd. New Technology and Old all right there. I hope you can click on the picture to see. I left them in High Res ( fingers crossed)
~
We also used the timed photo feature. We needed to prove we made it to the Buttes. We even touched them - just to make sure they existed!
~
The Grasslands are private and public lands, so every once in a while a ranch pops up. We even came across a cemetary, we looked in on it, but got significantly freaked out at what we thought was in front of this headstone.... so out of curiousity - what does it look like to you?
~
And now we are back home ready to eat some leftovers from Easter dinner. I cooked and everyone is still alive, so I figure we are good to eat the leftovers. I even made a gluten free cheesecake - go me! And I used GF Dark Chocolate cookies to make the crust. Not to bad!!
~
Hope you all had a good one!
It's either a skull or a dead soccer ball!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh....what a lovely day you had. Usually the butte turns out to be a lot farther away than we think, right? I'm glad you actually got there. The photo of the truck & winmill is cool. And your family is, too.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a skull, but I agree it is probably a soccer ball.
