Warning - there will not be any quilts in this post. But I know that you will forgive me - right? In my own world I always think I can do what I want - but in the real world, it just doesn't happen. So I'll try to get away with it here.... ( everyone is in front of the fire - I should be safe!)

This is the sunrise Saturday morning. You could see for ever and the color was so beautiful. The day turned out sunny and we even
played basketball - outside -
See the moon in the picture.... that moon was still waiting to go to bed, as we were all getting up.... something is wrong with this idea!!

The picture to the right - that is this morning.... what happened? The snow must have moved in over the night. We woke up to 3 inches of snow and lots of blowing snow. Truthfully - it is okay to have this snow, although we kind of wish it came Friday Night so we could go sledding....

I asked in a previous post what your favorite holiday treat was - and there were some great answers. This is ours - we make old fashioned Donuts. I think they are really called Fried Cakes - the recipe came from my Great Great Grandma. I don't think she decorated them with frosting, but we do... we used chocolate, strawberry and cream cheese frosting and lots and lots if sprinkles!
What beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteso are you going to share the recipe or is it a family secret?
ReplyDeletethe only way I know how to make donuts at home is to poke a hole in the middle of each one of those refrigerator biscuits (the kind that come in the tube) and deep-fry. I bet yours are much better!!!
I don't know how you stay so thin...I think I just gained a pound thinking about some of these. :)
We had a sun rise similar to yours yesterday. I called dh and said "look outside" - it had the sunset feel. Of course, unlike you, I didn't take my camera out to photograph. And to say I actually studied profesional photography in college! Thanks for sharing!
