I am breathing a little sigh of relief from googling when we started Indigo Way.... it was only 2023... so I am feeling a little accomplished on this one!!!
I made mine King Sized.... are you ready?
it took TWO of my people to hold the quilt up!!!If you look at the fabrics - you will see there is a blue floral - Its in the center of the blocks... That is a feedsack.
When my Grandma passed I got a lot of her fabrics, and there was a stack of feedsacks in the pile. At 16 I had NO idea what they were, but they were Grandmas, so I kept them.
When I got into quilting I started learning about feedsacks and a light went on - I have some of those.
So I took them to a Quilt appraiser - and lo and behold - I DID HAVE some!!!
i think I worked!!
So we started this in 2023, I had the inner top finished in August of 2024... I have NO idea why I waited so long to quilt it, and then ... I bribed myself to bind it.
and now it is on our bed - we have had a king since 2023... about time we had a Quilt to fit!! ( and that feels a little weird to have ONE quilt.... haha)
Anyways - that is my finish for the week!! What have you been up to?

What a gorgeous finish! I like the border you chose. How great it is pressed into service. How is it to sleep under? Quilts get finished when it is their time. I'm working on Grassy Creek which was Bonnie's mystery in 2020!

ReplyDeleteOh Alycia - it's stunning! How sweet to see grandma's feed sacks every time you look at the quilt on your bed. My version of Indigo Way will be awarded to a veteran on Sunday. It's one of my favorite "Bonnie" patterns.

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to use your grandmother's feed sack. I need to finish my Indigo Way. I've made all the blocks, and started sewing them together, but got stopped, and have never pulled it out again.
