A while back Lisa S, in one of my QOV groups - asked *Who wants to do a Mystery?*
I thought - sure - but there was a catch!!She wouldn't post the next step until at least half of us had it done... and I thought Oh Heck!! I had to get moving - I didn't want to hold the whole group up.
The pressure worked! Got the top done - and just got it in to quilt!!!
isn't that fun? She had said to do scrappy - but I had scrap large pieces - so I used that - and I like how it turned out! the Patter designer is Lisa Sutherland - You might have seen some of her patterns and she has a book out Patriotic M&M&M Quilts
Whoop whoop - glad to have another one done!!!
How are you all coming on your finishes? I had a goal - I wrote it down, now I can't fid the paper - so I am going tohave to search!!
Now it is your turn to link up!! I love that this is growing - tell all your friends!!
Wonderful mystery QOV finish

ReplyDeleteThis one turned out great! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, and I love that big center block!
ReplyDeleteYou did good on your Mystery.
ReplyDeleteNow that is a way to get a group to finish a mystery quilt. I love this design. I spy some fabrics I also have in my stash. Well done on your finish!
ReplyDeleteOoh, that's pretty! It's perfect for those great star prints you've got. And then scrappy for the borders. That's a great finish, Alycia!
ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome new QOV! Love it!
ReplyDeleteIt's a lot bigger than the first pic looks! Nice job!
ReplyDeleteOh, that's a very interesting way to run a mystery QAL. Fun!
ReplyDeleteLisa Sutherland is in a quilt group of mine. I forwarded your post to her.
ReplyDeleteA little bit of arm twisting there but it worked. You ended up with a wonderful little quilt. Are you keeping this one? Or a donation? It looks great! Enjoy! ;^)
ReplyDeleteThat's a great pattern. Peer pressure is a wonderful thing. ha ha ha ha
ReplyDeleteThat looks great. I tend to use way too many pieces in many of my quilts. I need to look at a bigger center, like this one, and add more top and bottom. You did a great job.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Great pattern, beautiful quilting!
ReplyDeleteVery motivating way to run a mystery and keep everyone moving. it's a very fun pattern. Your fabric choices really work.
ReplyDeleteI like how you made it rectangular with the top and bottom borders, simple but very effective.
