ReplyDeleteThe quilts are beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteLovely quilts! I'll be cooking this year and need to start planning the menu, soon, apparently. Didn't realize that Turkey Day is so close!

ReplyDeleteThe quilting on Gwyn's quilt is stunning! And the Log Cabin star is magnificent! How appropriate and heart-warming that the soldier received a Log Cabin quilt on the day he moved into his new home! All the quilts made for QOV are special.
ReplyDeleteRe: the giveaway and Thanksgiving. My favorite Thanksgiving dessert is pumpkin pie! LOVE IT! I could make a meal out of that alone -- almost! We'll be visiting my brother's for Thanksgiving.
My email is rothfamily98@yahoo.com
What a bunch of gorgeous quilt tops! I love the quilting on them. You sure have some great quilters helping out. Hum, Thanksgiving this year is at my daughter's house but I'll be staying with my son a little over an hour away. Favorite dessert? a really good, homemade cookie be it chocolate chip, sugar, oatmeal or othercookie. Thanks for all you do Alycia. I'm going to be late getting my blocks to you for the challenge. I can't mail them until tomorrow. Coming from Va I doubt they'll be there by Friday.
ReplyDeleteThe quilts are beautiful! I will make Turkey dinner and a wonderful pumpkin pie..Thanks for the giveaway...
ReplyDeleteWonderful quilts as always. I don't have to buy any quilt books since there are plenty of ideas there!
ReplyDeleteThanksgiving is at my home. My favorite Thanksgiving dessert is my daughter's homemade apple pie, yum. She makes a better pie than I do, lol.
What a great group of quilt! I love, love, love the diamond log cabin. I'm going to have to find that pattern--what a stunning quilt it makes.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, gorgeous quilts! Our family's favorite dessert is pecan pie--forget pumpkin, they say, just pecan pie!
ReplyDeleteI love looking at all of the quilts. What an awesome shower head! missysaprons@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI already made a comment, but forgot to tell you my favorite dessert. Pumpkin pie and pecan pie are my favorites!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration Thanksgiving is with my son The thing I look forward to the most is the WONDERFUL apple pies he makes I only get them once a year now so will enjoy. mary
ReplyDeleteWonderful, terrific quilts. What a lovely addition to the cause. Shower head, yes I could use one. So could Dolly if I could ever teach her to jump in the tub.
ReplyDeleteI'll be traveling over the river and through the woods this Thanksgiving and taking my famous apple pie, chocolate pie, and maybe a dirt cake for the kids.
Thanks for sharing.
Just took the turkey out of the freezer to thaw. For desert, I'm planning sugarfree lemon meringue and chocolate meringue pies and several varieties of sugarfree cookies for guests to take home. The deserts will all be decadent and luscious and guilt-free for my diabetic family. Thanks for a chance to win the shower wand. I WANT IT - my old WaterPic is dying.
ReplyDeleteI look at your blogs every time you post and thoroughly enjoy them. The shower head give away is a hoot and if I didn't need a new shower head I wouldn't comment but hey, why not?
ReplyDeleteThe QOVs are beautiful, and so appreciated by the recipients. Nice work, all of you! Favorite desert is a tiny wedge of pumpkin pie, followed by a tiny wedge of apple pie! The shower head sounds heavenly - what a way to relax! Happy Thanksgiving, all!

Every time I look at these quilt shows I find another idea to add to my "someday" list! I'm going to have to live until at least the 22nd century to complete them all. Thanks for sharing all of this great work!
ReplyDeleteAmazing quilts! Love the starburst one. You are right about the quilting on the other, just amazing. Love the quilt show!
ReplyDeleteHugs
I could really use a massage, but I think this showerhead would do the trick.
ReplyDeleteWell I am having back surgery Nov.28th. so I could really use one Alycia, I need to get back on the LA I have a couple of QOV's waiting & tub filled with HOB quilts.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds wonderful! DH would go crazy for it.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds wonderful! DH would go crazy for it.
ReplyDeleteExhilarating!!!!! The quilts and the thought of that wonderful showerhead...
ReplyDeleteHi Love the QOV'[s and your blog. Sure hope I could win the showerhead, but if I don't I'll break down and buy one! My son and his wife are coming for Thanksgiving, so I'll be cooking pies and turkey----along with dressing, homemade rolls, noodles, and 3 or 4 vegetables. There will be cheescake to top off the leftovers afterward. Wanna come? Jennifer in IN stitchster@toast2.net
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt show!!! And love the shower head -- already have one, lol. Well for Thanksgiving, unfornately will be alone this year. Don't feel like traveling, and the kids have the spouses family, so it will be me and my 4 dogs. pensuequilts@aol.com
ReplyDeleteWe will do our traditional put-up-the-Christmas-tree-as-a-family...my hubby, two kids and I. All our family is out-of-state and we'd rather spend more time at Christmas with them, so that's when we travel.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite dessert? Tiramisu Cheesecake - the best of both mixed together! ;-)
I may also get in some gift sewing over the long weekend, too.
I'm not very good at this computer stuff...this is the 3rd time I'm trying this...LOL!
ReplyDeleteAlycia I'm so awed by all you do with both the Quilts of Valor and keeping track of your family.
Would you mind sharing some of your energy with me so I could quilt a little longer every day and maybe produce more Quilts of Valor? ...Please?
Hugs coming your way...you go girl!!!
I love, love, love your eye candy each week. Just got home from retreat & trying to play catch-up at work, housework & sewing room (disaster!!). Turkey day will be just me & DH but family here on Friday. Granma watches grands while moms shop Black Friday sales.
ReplyDeleteFavorite desert is zucchini cobbler (tastes like granny smith apple cobbler). Gotta cook big one this year. Would LOVE to win this showerhead. Mine died last month.

Your quilts are beautiful and I'm sure they will be appreciated and loved. As for Thanksgiving - well, I have developed diabetes, so dessert is out! I do make a pumpkin souffle using a bit of Splenda that is pretty good; it distracts me from the real pumpkin pie. If I win the showerhead I am going to try to persuade Mom to install it and use it. She has to bathe sitting on a stool in the tub and this would make it easier.

Lovely quilts of valor. Thanks for your dedication to this great cause. My favorite dessert is pumpkin pie and I can't wait to see my niece and nephew at Thanksgiving! Then following day the Easy Street mystery debuts so we're having Thanksgiving leftovers and I am going to sew all day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a show for the eyes of all Quilts of Valor helpers and thier recipients.
ReplyDeleteLove all the feathers.. I wish I could master that feature of making each one look alike..
ReplyDeleteHope who ever gets this wont think its worn our in a couple years and give it to the dog for a blanket. People now days do not know that a slightly faded quilt is the signs that your loving it to death.. and that is the way a happy quilt likes do pass on

ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteLook forward to your quilt shows and how neat to see all the lovely quilts. I really need a new shower head. Mine is shot and hubby couldn't fix it. I will be cooking my 50th Thanksgiving dinner. Yikes. Had hoped I could convince everybody to go out, no luck.
You and your family have a wonderful holiday and thank you for all you do for QOV.
I am sure after hosting and cooking for my family on Thanksgiving day, that shower head's massage would be wonderful. Dessert--homemade pumpkin pie, of course. Thanks for the chance to win, and especially thanks for all your efforts for our troops!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing all your quilts - very inspiring.
ReplyDeleteI made a pumpkin cake Monday and two yesterday for my daughter and SIL's office parties. Will make a fourth for TDay at my sister's.
I don't think my comment showed up. If it did please accept my apology.
ReplyDeleteI am having our family for dinner-kids, grands, mother, boyfriends, etc.
My family is going to my sister-in-laws for Thanksgiving. My favorite dessert is lemon meringue pie, which reminds me...I need to make one to take to thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteWe'll be spending Thanksgiving at the in-laws' house, where my son and daughter-in-law will be making the big announcement that they are expecting their first child in May. My favorite dessert is pumpkin pie! Could make an entire meal off crispy turkey skin and pumpkin pie ...
ReplyDeleteIt will just be hubby and I this year, so I think we will be giving thanks non traditionally. Can't see going to all the work and expense of making a full Thanksgiving dinner just for two.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that you post the link to a weekly quilt show. I find it always inspires me to go get a little more done on whatever QOV project I have going at the time.
ReplyDeleteAnother group of wonderful quilts! I truly admire your energy & dedication.
ReplyDeleteAlycia I love your blog and the generous work you do with our service men and women. Thank you. I am having about 44 for dinner Thanksgiving Day, full traditional meal with a surprise 80th birthday cake thrown in for my brother. Favorite dessert is my caramel peach pie, but I'll be serving an assortment on that day. Dee in NE
ReplyDeleteWe're spending Thanksgiving weekend at the Fort Davis Texas State Park. My dad worked in the Civilian Conservation Corp and helped build this park in the summer of 1933. We plan on visiting the museum there with hopes of seeing my dad in some of the photos. This will really be a special time for me.
ReplyDeleteWe are spending Thanksgiving with my DH's aunt and uncle, along with the other aunt and uncle, my dear in-laws, his sisters and their families, assundry cousins with their families, and 3 of his children - one with her DH and another with hsi GF, and one of my daughters with her fiance. Looking like 50 or so will be there!!! Should be a fabulous time - I look forward to it every year!!! Thank you for the opportunity to win a wet slice of heaven!!!
ReplyDeleteAFter drooling over the quilt show..I need a shower! LOL!
ReplyDeleteWe will be going to my son's college to have Thanksgiving with him and to take him a Christmas tree and set it up at his apartment when we get off of work about 11:00a.m. that morning.

I could use that shower head right about now!! There is no Thanksgiving without Sweet Potato Pie and of course, turkey. This year I plan to use a brine. Never did this before, so I hope it works.
ReplyDeleteI love your quilts! Thanks for all you are doing for QOV!
ReplyDeleteI am going to my sister's for Thanksgiving. And my Thanksgiving favorite dessert is Dutch Apple Pie a la Mode.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks for sharing all the quilts. It motivates me. Turkey Day I will be in your neighborhood (Denver)with family! Long way from Ohio! I love all the traditional Turdey Day foods and just found a pecan pumpkin pie combo to satify the "which to make" delimna. New Shower heads should be mandatory every few years since we use them so often.
