The back of the quilt is a beautiful piece of Tye Dye Fabric from the famous Vicki WelshThis quilt is now residing with a disabled Veteran and his family. Homes for our Troops made him a specially adapted house, and during the dedication - this Quilt of Valor was presented.

What a bunch of gorgeous quilt tops! I love the quilting on them. You sure have some great quilters helping out. Hum, Thanksgiving this year is at my daughter's house but I'll be staying with my son a little over an hour away. Favorite dessert? a really good, homemade cookie be it chocolate chip, sugar, oatmeal or othercookie. Thanks for all you do Alycia. I'm going to be late getting my blocks to you for the challenge. I can't mail them until tomorrow. Coming from Va I doubt they'll be there by Friday.

Just took the turkey out of the freezer to thaw. For desert, I'm planning sugarfree lemon meringue and chocolate meringue pies and several varieties of sugarfree cookies for guests to take home. ReplyDeleteWe will do our traditional put-up-the-Christmas-tree-as-a-family...my hubby, two kids and I. All our family is out-of-state and we'd rather spend more time at Christmas with them, so that's when we travel.

I love, love, love your eye candy each week. Just got home from retreat & trying to play catch-up at work, housework & sewing room (disaster!!). Turkey day will be just me & DH but family here on Friday. Granma watches grands while moms shop Black Friday sales.

Your quilts are beautiful and I'm sure they will be appreciated and loved. As for Thanksgiving - well, I have developed diabetes, so dessert is out! I do make a pumpkin souffle using a bit of Splenda that is pretty good; it distracts me from the real pumpkin pie. If I win the showerhead I am going to try to persuade Mom to install it and use it. She has to bathe sitting on a stool in the tub and this would make it easier.

ReplyDeleteWe're spending Thanksgiving weekend at the Fort Davis Texas State Park. My dad worked in the Civilian Conservation Corp and helped build this park in the summer of 1933. We plan on visiting the museum there with hopes of seeing my dad in some of the photos. This will really be a special time for me.
ReplyDeleteWe are spending Thanksgiving with my DH's aunt and uncle, along with the other aunt and uncle, my dear in-laws, his sisters and their families, assundry cousins with their families, and 3 of his children - one with her DH and another with hsi GF, and one of my daughters with her fiance. ReplyDeleteMy husband, me, and our twin 7 year olds are actually going duck hunting Thursday morning! Woo hoo! We will have an evening Thanksgiving meal with the in-laws and then will have another Thanksgiving meal on Saturday evening with my family. My absolutely favorite dessert this time of year is pumpkin pie, so there will be some in abundance!

I could use that shower head right about now!! There is no Thanksgiving without Sweet Potato Pie and of course, turkey. This year I plan to use a brine. Never did this before, so I hope it works.

Thanks for sharing all the quilts. It motivates me. Turkey Day I will be in your neighborhood (Denver)with family! Long way from Ohio! I love all the traditional Turdey Day foods and just found a pecan pumpkin pie combo to satify the "which to make" delimna. New Shower heads should be mandatory every few years since we use them so often.
