Design Wall Monday - the Summer Mystery continued....

My summer Mystery has grown... I tried quite a few ideas to make it bigger, but.... I didn't like all of them... I thought about adding other blocks, making a piano key border.... maybe using half squares....

And this.... is what I finally came up with!

I added a 2 1/2 inch Red border, and then found this USA fabric - and made borders with it. Its a little plainer than I imagined - but I hope that is leaves the focus on the cool blocks in the center.

now I am off on another tangent... I found a box, and I opened the box.... and oh boy.... there was stuff in it!!!..................

Beautiful top! The red border adds such a nice pop of color and the fabric for the outer border looks great.

A beautiful design! That pop of dark red really makes it.

Yep, that fabric finishes it off nicely. Really, you have to tease us with a box opening.... common girl share!

Adding the red border was perfect! And the outer border goes so well with the overall vibe of the quilt.

Boundaries made. Now, to quilt it. That can be the dash of hot sauce.

Ya gotta watch those boxes! I opened one yesterday and now the sewing room is covered in stacks of fabric pulls. Can't wait to see what you found in yours.

I didn’t even notice the outer border was there until I read it was there! Just the red, but the first thing I noticed was your beautiful center. Mission accomplished!

Hi,
Love the color combos of this quilt. The borders make
the quilt center pop out. Have a great day!
