One Monthly Goal and Design Wall floor

Heidi over at Red Letter Quilts started a One Monthly Goal linky - and you know me - I am always wanting a little extra push to keep me on track..... So I joined up..... and failed .... In the FIRST month!!!

it's all good though!! It kept me from maybe starting 10 other quilts!!

My first OMG was to finish my allietare - and .... well.... I didn't....I stalled

On a good note - I finished and wrote and had the pattern tested for our Mystery Quilt that will run over on Mystery Quilts 4 Military  - which is good - the mystery starts FRIDAY!!

I've been working on a super huge T Shirt quilt for a client - and that is now to the Quilting stage ...

AND - we hosted a huge Quilt of Valor presentation ( those always take more time than I think they will)

So I am not feeling too very bad - but I will make my Allietare my OMG for February as well - keep me focused ok????

This is where I start with it today...

On one of my Photography treks I found this barn
I think it is pretty cool. The sunrise was just perfect behind it for a very wintry look.

Don't you think if I finished my Allietare it would be fun to take back and photograph here?
I think I can remember where I found it..... Sort of....

Wonderful barn. It looks like a painting. You've captured some lovely light. Thanks for sharing.

Your photograph drew me to your blog from Patchwork Times. Beautiful shot in its ice and light. Great job on Allietare, good balance of gray and brightness. Just learning to live with gray in my quilts as it was wanted in a new baby quilt for my children. You are a busy quilter indeed. Stephani in N. TX (Tomazec@aol.com)

Beautiful photo!! Sure would be a challenge to turn all of that wintery white into a quilt. You know me... I want to turn ALL of your photos into quilts!!!

Oh my- your use of plaids has MADE this quilt stunning!!! Yes, it would look lovely with the barn in the background, but how ever will you get the same frosty look? Lovely photo, BTW.

Even though you didn't finish Allietare, you did make some progress. Good luck with finishing it up this month. I debated about making my Allietare my February goal, but decided I still had too many blocks to make to get it done this month. I think a shot of your quilt at the barn would be spectacular. The colors in those bricks are perfect.

I really, really like the colours you chose for your allietare - really warm and rich-looking. :) It reminds me of floor tiles, in the best possible way!

Good job on the Allietare, it wasn't born in a day.

I'm loving the barn photo. How different barns in different areas of the country. I find it intriguing that it is made of brick. I've never seen one before. Here it would have another level, and the roof line is different too. So many of the local old barns are dying.

It's February here in eastern Washington state, sigh. Good time for quilting.
